Bobgenie and Jaffa are both confirmed as "good to go".

This round is at Croft Circuit near Darlington(up Norf!!)

James/Jaffa will have Jimmer as support and Bob will have to put up with me plus some support from the guys at Eurospec.

Anyone going is welcome to pop along and say hello.

For those of you who dont know both cars compete in the RWD section of "Club class" so they are in direct competition with each other as well as the rest of the cars in their calss.

Attack at Croft

11 May 2013

General Time Attack information

The Time Attack Series is dedicated to representing the aftermarket scene and to providing a relevant motorsport to those within the scene. As a result we have formulated various classes within Time Attack that allow us to accommodate almost every level of driver and car type/marque and class them into a category that is fitting for that level, making any achievement relevant, substantial, meaningful and more importantly- sporting.

Time Attack is open to ALL marques and contrary to popular belief Time Attack is not just for the high-end tuner cars with large budgets. Since Time Attack was introduced to this country in 2005 we have worked hard to formulate classes that appeal to the guy on the street through to the high end tuners (from within the ultra competitive aftermarket tuning scene) that come to battle for Time Attack honours.

Looks like a beast, do you have a list of what's been done on the site?

How's the rear suspension mounting point mod worked out for you?

don't think there's a full spec list anywhere but my head.

Rear suspension changes aren't on yet, looking to get it done asap though to give me more traction coming out of corners

Hi Darron,

I was running around 700hp in the morning (first time in the car at that level!), some electrical gremlins holding it back for qualifying and final which was a shame. Bob must be around the 500 fly mark from when I was following him around. Your trap speeds suggest your not shy on power vs weight either!

we are about 300ish and just over 1000kgs with me it it (fatty!!)

never been to snett before so prob struggle a little

Darron not sure if you know but last year Snetterton had a public track day just before so you could come a day early for some practice!

Great weekend for the 300, both myself and Bob competitive and scoring points.

Indeed.

Both Bob and James loooked and sounded good out on track.

Final times were....

Bob....1.39.74. 3rd in class

James... 1.39.80. fourth in class

Yes they were close.

In comparison the class winner Umar Masoood in his RX7 did a 1.35.96

So both 300s are just 4 secs off.

Remember Umar is a VERY seasoned competior.

And Darron Wall did a 1.37.08 in his rapid VX220 to take second in class behind Umar.

There were just the four of them this time out in the RWD section of Club class

Only 17 entries overalll in club class.

A bit down on Cadwell .

Too far north for some!!!

great driving Guys.. and fantastic to meet you all finally.. even Bob.. :-) talked us into TOTB.. understand it now and a good value weekend I reckon...

it was heart in mouth time when James came off but he looked more calm than us.. lol..

Darron, if you were in the bluish vx my Daughter wanted the car 1. because it was fast but more importantly it was the right colour..

This is a great series guys and flys the flag for 300s,i wish more people would come along and give more support to these guys.id like to see a club stand at these events to show how proud we are of the car and its prowess in events like this.

^^^ Excellent idea Jimmer.

Jaffa, Bobgenie and cowpatmatt are doings great things with the 300zx, improving the Z's reputation and Image, and showing what the Z can really do. It would be great if we as a club could stand together to support them at these Time Attack and BDC events.

Thats a great idea.. All I can say is I went with my Wife and 2 kids, 11 and 8. we were allowed close access to all cars. All the teams were really talkative and were happy to show you their cars. it wasnt too busy you couldnt move. we caught up with a few other members.. we all thoroughly enjoyed the day and they were asking when the next one was.

my little lad now wants to race an mx5, they were his favourite.. definately worth going along and see what you think...

Just wondered what diffs you guys use for this type of Motorsport na or tt .

I will be at Snetterton to support you guys, I can load the car up with tools and be on call if you need an extra pair of hands even if it's just a wheel change etc. Im based in Norwich so if you need anything brought down to you from the city then just give me a call. I'll PM you my number.

Hi

Just wanted to say it was a fantastic day. Good to meet some new people as well as the usual rabble from up ere. James was very accommodating letting us hang round while he was preparing for the next rounds etc. Good result guys, good luck for Snetterton.

Thats a great offer.... however you probably dont need to bring any tools as things have moved on from when you saw the cars last year at Snetterton.

Let me explain.........................................

Bob now has full on event support from Eurospec. They handle everything including the fluid checks and wheel changes that I used to do. They also have rebuilt this car for this season and so are able to offer full technical support on the day. That was something that Bob needed.

Similarly James now has Jimmer with him on events as well as back in the workshop to do whatever is needed.. routine checks, tyre changes and tech stuff.

For Snetterton Jimmer is on holiday so I will be assisting James with tyres etc. (but little to no tech help:huh:) and I will bring my usual travel tools, low level jack, rattle gun torque wrench etc etc.

James also has a few tools in his tow vehicle.

So come along and enjoy.

Please introduce yourself to me when you arrive as I "might" need a hand if wheel changes are the order of the day and Im not passing up on your offer:innocent:

either of you boys rocking up at the javelin trackday at oulton the day before time attack their??

Hi Darron

No me and Martyna will be riding single track in Thetford Forest on the Saturday. Sunday will be the 200 circuit and the trackday will be the 300 as far as I know. See you on the Sunday :-)

you right about the tracks, but i need as much track time as i can get, having never been there before and i think the track will suit you big bhp boys more than me

see you there!!

I was actually running less than 400 at Croft got more power in my road car lol. Hoping to dial some power back in ready for Snetterton but we shall see how it goes next week but you're right it is suited to big power.

Just wondered what diffs you guys use for this type of Motorsport na or tt .

I'm using an na diff but it doesn't suit all the tracks and might be better off with the tt diff tbh.

Controversial and some interesting info from the front line. The na diff setup has been a bit of a hot potato over the last few years and a handy upgrade but maybe it's just on paper? Great to see some feedback from these different setups.

Well if I hadn't had such a major setback at Cadwell I might have tried a tt diff at some point but we are still low on power so the na diff is correct. I get the feeling that the tt diff would be the better option with plus 500 bhp but haven't been able to test it so far. I might give it a go later this year :-)
