I posted at the start of this month i had bought a SWB N/a with a naff engine and was planning on doing a TT swap among other things and general tinkery stuffs.... ( BTW i bought this with a Big end Bearing gone.....)

Well i started to strip her down and upon removing the R/h Wing i found this abomination!

Then obviously having to remove the engine and planning on stripping the underside i start removing the engine beginning with the Fluids and find a certain something peeping out the sump! (the dipstick i knew about when buying the car and the look on the owners face when i asked him where the rest of it was was priceless)

This next one isnt detrimental but i thought, at least I've gained something so far from buying this.....

Now for my favorite surprise ive had yet...

Here is my replacement fan which of course electric. It comes from a lincoln Mk8 there are a number of reasons for choosing this over the stock viscous fan but one of the being there wasnt enough room for the viscous fan.

Yeah it stank man, although it was shipped from Canada with oil still in it. What I drained looks nice but that was horrid.

Someone did a lab experiment comparing e-fans and this one produced around 3400 on hi speed.

On the same experiment he tested a spal 16" which was rated at 3200cfm but actually produced 1800

Should be more than capable

Some more sump photos

Before it went to the blasters

In the second picture you can see the baffles i have made to stop the lower capacity of oil being a burden on the engine, even though i plan to increase it anyway.

The baffles are orientated like so due to the pickup being towards the left of the sump.

The fitment of the sump and the welding of the pickup have been a right pain in the ass but all done now and on with the installation!

Not yet mate. Just waiting for enough floor space in the garage to get it set up :whistling:

Need to soon though, got to get a TT engine ready to go in mine :)

Well erm, ITS IN!!!

God damn finally and not without any cut knuckles or tears, and yes it slightly wonky at this point as a spot weld on the exhaust is propping it up one side it is literally that close!

How I removed the auto pilot bearing. Yep that's a camber bolt.

All I managed to do after that was adaptor plate and flywheel as my clutch never came with any bolts

Problems I currently face which I have noticed-

Manifold fouls steering shaft

I have like 2.5" for a clutch master cylinder to fit in

Fuel lines run too close to manifold

My new fan won't fit without chopping it up :(

Won't be believing anyone else's measurements for this conversion again!!

More to come soon

Sweet ill pull it back out and get it on a pallet, might as well chuck the link ecu in too:sneaky2:

It went in okay ish considering I was on my own. But all it's ancillaries need modifications. I've even had to modify the aftermarket conversion bits...

Great work mate, I know how crap it is hauling engines in and out to make adjustments to make things fit so I can wholeheartedly sympathise :)

Keep up the good work! :hyper:

Amazing work mate, keep at it cant believe how much you have done. Cant wait to see it once its all done, will be amazing.

cheers guys, hopefully wont be too long until its running, i wanted it at TOTB but that aint happening realistically now.

Didn't realise you were doing a VH swap too:)

If you need any odd bits let me know, still have some bearings, seals etc. lying around that I don't need on mine that came in the kits.
