Totally agree about front mounts esp the greddy style one just looks awful jammed in there. Z1's own intercoolers have a good rep in the states and are a damn good price, godspeed arnt quite as good but are better than stock, ashspec BA's are the big boys but theyre comparitily more expensive and i dunno if your current setup would warrent them, they also should e used with the 2.5" intake system pushing pric e up further.

Have a quick serach around on http://www.300zxclub.com you will find plently of reveiws including proper tests with dyno charts all the rest.

im running Z1 side mounts, mahoosive things, haven't had a problem with them apart from my front bumper, (although mine isnt standard) had to cut the back off the indicator lights and poke the bulbs in with the wires, as with out trimming the back down, i couldn't get the lights to sit in the bumper at all lol

lend me a 99spec and ill let you know lol

I have them on my car which has a 99spec front end. No problems with the fitting apart from trimming the stock intercooler ducts. No cutting of the bumper or indicators was needed. I bought my intercoolers nearly 5yrs ago but I'm presuming they haven't changed.
