You need to use the whole rear NA subframe assembly but it's a common upgrade. The NA diff won't fit on the TT rear frame I'm afraid.

HTH

You need the complete assembly, the subframe and carrier are different the half shafts are different, damn the propshafts different. You will also have to recalibrate your speedo. I know alot of people like this mod but it depends what you want alot of people moan about I t5 long term as it can make first a secondgear a wheelspin fest.

So what are the benefits of the diff swap?

Basically it's faster acceleration at the cost of top end BHP (in each gear).

Was thinking of going the na route down the line anyways have the na diff awhile in the shed i didnt know there was a difference when i picked it up, so whats everthing id need

Subframe

Halfshafts

Diff carrier

Prop

Na powersteering pump and po

Anything else?

it takes around 15>20mph of the Overall top end speed .. so it works out at Max RPM>Speed is 165>170 Depending on rev limit

0>60 is about 1 sec quicker

just makes the car feel like its got more power really

Itmes u need

Subframe

Diff

Diff half shafts

Rear Half of Prop and Front Yoke of the front at the Least ... or complete drive shaft

Lower arms

Upper arms

Tack rod arms

Hubs & Bearing assembly

I put an na rear on mine gets rid of hicas so feels more solid,

And before na rear I was running chip and around 1bar of boost,

I have only tried na rear with standard map and boost and its sround the same performance has when it was chipped, it seems to make the car just pull in any gear.

Its about the best thing I've done on my zed, drives and performs better but does spin back wheels easy lol.

Top end dont matter to me still do over 150mph and who really needs faster...

Always thought that you loose the top end speed in each gear not just the top speed of the car. Doesn't the TT have a larger ratio than the NA?

in a effect yes you do loose Max speed per gear as its the final ratio your changing but u dont really notice it as its that minimal Per gear

Would it be a good idea to get uprated bushes when changing over, i prob going to change the arms for adjustable ones while iam at it, was looking on ebay at godspeed ones are the a good make, going to try me hand at drifting this year, i also was wondering would s14 front hubs fit as there easy to get extra lock s14 hubs here second hand

ahh, Must admit there's not many places you'll get a TT upto max speed anyway unless your belting round the 'ring. Sadly I found out about this mod AFTER I fully refurbed my rear diff!! lol

Think your likely right, but gears still feel long enough, and u don't notice it just feels like it wants to pull.

I was shocked didn't expect to feel any difference and mainly changed due to hicas joints.

But u really can notice the difference, more if say your in 3rd or 4th and low in rev range it just wants to go..

if your car is going to be a tracker only then yes change them to polly bush .. but if your normal driving then stick with the rubber type not so harsh on the bumps

as for godspeed .. its a Cheap brand some of there stuff is ok but not sure on the suspension parts

S14 hubs can be made to fit but take a little machining if its steering rake your after then those hubs and modified rack

Its a track car just not enough track days to keep me happy so want to get a few drift days in aswell, so would i be better off getting my own hubs modified? Was only thinking bout cause there cheap, id be able to get secondhand ones over here handy enough, i not sure which arms fit from other skyline s13 s14, does anybody know what arms are shared with other nissans as handier getting aftermarket second hand skyline, silvia drift arm rods ect

Speak to cowpat matt and japslapper both of them have drift spec z32s the na rear end would definatly be better for drifting.and there is a way to substantially allow more lock.

Yea i seen i think cowpats build thread on driftworks a white one with green wheels, havent seen 1 drifting over here, il try find them nd pm the

As far as i know most arms, rods are interchangeable, when i searched for driftworks, godspeed arms there listed as fitting other to, il have to do my homework

Have a look on the drift works shop I'm sure it shows which arms are interchangeable between the models

i've got the N/A conversion on mine and all I can say is it pulls like a train, bought my car with it already done so wont know what the normal tt diff feels like

  • Author

It seems like it going to be a good bit of work but should lose a bit of weight by changing over plus it be quicker

Just to add to this thread by asking a question, are the swb and lwb rear subframes different?

SWB and LWB subframes are the same, however the rear half of the prop differs and so will need a NA rear SWB prop if converting a SWB TT to NA Rearend. (or a custom one-piece lightweight prop)

Thank you for clarifying, I'm still in two minds about this mod

so r200 na internals wont fit into a r230 tt diff case would make life easier if they did .
