  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Why would you want an image of an offensive hand gesture in the back of your car? Sorry, but that's just low brow.

I don't think he cares lol.

If that's the case, then he obviously has little self respect. lol

It will just make some lowlife having a bad day put a brick threw your window mate. It will only offend people and give of the wrong image.

Bought some big stupid turbos & a decent fuel system set up for TOTB.

What are they Noel?

What are they Noel?

I'm not into sending £2.2k to the USA for a couple of GTX units to make mid 500s, so thought I'd do it properly with a set of big Chinese blowers(!). I bought Jaffa's fuel system (850cc injectors, border fuel rails, twin Walbros, Aeromotive FPR) as there is no skimping on that side of things and it allows me to run as much power as the stock engine can take. The best result I've seen with bolt-on turbos was Phutumsch's Godspeed setup, which is a pair of Chinese T28s with 4-bolt turbine housings. Going to a T3 turbo set up allows for a much wider range of options, if/when these fail it'll be a pair of Holset HX35Ws or Borg Warner S200s.

I do hope these last a while, but it is a gamble. I've had good experiences & bad with Chinese turbos in the past. These ones have a built in restrictor which is different to previous ones I've used, so they've obviously made some kind of effort to increase longevity. Lag (boost threshold) is likely to be high, but top end power should be impressive and intake temps lower than the usual T2x setups. I'm contemplating water/meth injection and nitrous as well, but I doubt there'll be time before TOTB, and I need to consider the material strength limits of the stock piston ringlands.

There will likely be an issue with clearance of the engine mounts, so to get around that I will use mesh on the compressor inlets and a blow-through MAF setup, negating the need for $390 low-profile engine mounts and removing further restriction from the intake system.

Cheers Noel, bit cautious of China turbochargers. Been looking at gt2560r off an s15 which are about £600 a side which is still quite expensive.

So nice to have brakes again!

Also now I can stop, I tried some standing starts - the first with my NA diff. Impossible is the first thought that comes to mind. Starting in 1st gear was useless and starting in second was 50/50 between bogging down and lighting the tyres up. More settings to change and more practice needed.

That said once she's going, she keeps going....
