  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Finished my clutch off today, got it all back together and took it for a test drive. fell in love with my zed again :)

Something tells me I should know what you are on about.. Lol

Your cup/washer bottle that was in your black zed

Gary your car is stunning, makes me want a red one!!!

Is the trim between the fogs the colour of the plastic or sprayed?

Mine looked quite dark before it was sprayed so left it bare plastic , but I would like it a little darker so may get it sprayed at some point. Is it normally a matt black/dark grey?

Andy, love the look of the interior, I would like mine done like that but a little darker grey to match my cars paint

Thanks Adam and it is how it left the Nissan factory in Japan so its a grey colour.

Doh sorry mate forgot about that... Still got it! May have to make an appearance :)

Though you were on about the teacup in my exhaust picture from last year lol

took the exhaust off now good old dremel had to cut one bolt off propshaft off all gearbox bolts off apart from the top two tomorrow brake peddle then clutch peddle going in take the other 2 bolts off have to get some more exenshion bars as iv got to go from the back end to take them out so so-far so good

Drove it, washed it and waxed it.......

.......then tried a new paint sealant I found in Halfords last weekend - made by (of all companies) WonderWheels!! It was only £12 so I thought I'd give it a go. It's dead easy to apply and needs no buffing; so let's see how long it lasts - the packaging says 12 months... Hmmmm. Still it will probably last ages on the ZX as it lives in the garage and generally does not get used in bad weather. I covered Julia's Rav in it last Sunday and you can still see the shine from way down the road; and water just runs off of it at the mo....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Sorted another job off my list on my new zed: replaced rear coilovers that were already knackered when I bought it. Took about 2 hours including a lick of red hammerite on both rear callipers. Took it for a spin and at last I have a quality sports motor that can be thrown about a bit as opposed to a space-hopper on speed that it was previously! Different car again. Swapped the MAF few weeks ago and cured a cutting out issue at about 4,000 rpm.....slowly getting there.

Did notice a hole in o/s exhaust just before backbox while rear wheels were off though. Looks like an excuse to get some beefy back boxes.....

Removed Engine

Palleted/Rapped Engine up

.... and was finished by half 4 today to say the least im ****ing knackered :( .. just waiting for my takeaway to turn up

Went to Shakespeare Raceway and ran 12.74@111mph still on stock Auto turbos & 370cc injectors with a very rich map. Only casualty of the day was a windscreen washer pipe!

Thats a good time Noz!!

Mark, you don't mess around mate!!! :thumbup1:

I rang Nissan yesterday, as I never got round to replacing one of the Oil Cooler hoses that was too short (stretched to fit). They wanted £35 for the short one and £40 for the longer one!!!

Spoke to Luke at Z-Centre and he had a Motul one which had been on a car for a year plus the hoses-

All that for £30!

Fitted it today and changed the oil to 15w-50 so hope that reduces the smoking a little for now

Had a nice Sunday drive of 70 miles:biggrin:

Nice one Gaz - glad you have got it taxed and on the road again mate!! We took mine on a 200 mile round trip down to Bath today...... It felt good on a nice empty M4 in the cold morning air earlier today. And on the way home, I took the scenic route back along the A4 - that was a decent drive - it was mostly empty but the ZX despatched the odd Sunday dawdler as if they were standing still!!!

You lucky :devil2:

Anyhoo, today I got an MOT and a service. Well, the Z did. And TBH I didn't do it, I just drove it to Eurospec (thanks Ben, thanks Graham) and they did it. Does that count?

Picked up my re-furbed tubs..he also put a wider radius on the inlet housing too:yes:

I've done shed loads and started the spraying

Fixed a few boost leaks but need to make another boost leak checker!

Thanks Rich, Gary. I might be tempted to point out that's one of the benefits of the stock approach but wouldn't want to get flamed!
