  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I finally Insured her ............. after 7 years off the road the MOT is days away, followed by taxation if she passes...... starting to panic and need to double check everything before the MOT.....

Done lights, washers, wipers, seat belts, tyres...... The brake discs look rusty but hoping they clean up under a bit of driving and light braking on the way to the test station..... lol

I am literally grinning now......... lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Took it out of hibernation, down to the MOT station where it passed with no advisories. Blew a headlight bulb on the way home though....

Thats great Steve...

Z32bolt.... Her way of having a pop because you keep her locked up away from the world lol

I had a nice suprise the other day.

Because my zed has been outside my mates for three days while I fit an alarm I found a note under the windscreen wiper expecting the usual jealousy of 'please move your car'....

But low and behold... Some guy up the road had left his business card with a note saying 'if you ever decide to sell your 300zx please call me, thanks'.

I felt like $1,000,000 lol

I still look at the zeds and know I don't want anything else.

The guys not having move either. ;)

I'm sure you'll all agree even with some of the agro that goes with owning one.

Lol do it online bud.

It'll be registered straight away too on the database.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that option. That will do then lol.

took the exhaust off and prop shaft pulled the gearbox back removed all plugs and plenum ready to pull the old engine out and the new engine in tomorrow and the 2 top bolts are still a cow on the gearbox

Lol do it online bud.

you still can`t drive it with no tax displayed even if it is in database

I refitted the door cards and speakers, lubricated all the locking mechanism and window runners and checked seat belts again.......

I fitted new number plates and stickers I was kindly sent in my renewal pack......lol

OH..........and I booked her in for an MOT on Thursday at 11am......only took 7 years...... lol.......:hyper::dance::dance:

Good luck for Thursday Russ, with the time and effort you've put into her it will only be something silly if it does fail.

Depends....if your tax disc expired and you have simply renewed you can display the old disc for a grace period. If however the car has been sorn then yes you need to wait for the new disc, a quick read on the DVLA reveals all.

maybe ... mine was not sorned and i bought tax online and stick reference number on screen :) and was pulled by cop and he told me there are 2 fines 1 for not displaying and 1 for not having it but he let me go

Fitted New front brake discs so she's now ready to roll to Lee Dents on Saturday. Removed front & rear bumper ready for paint. Thankfully still no rust found.

DSC_0468.jpg

removed the rad, fan, power steering pump, water hoses, air con unit, and that's not going back, polished the water pipes, and plenum, rad cover, slam panel, hard pipes

Stripped out head unit, Digital Surround Processor, Door speakers, crossovers and amplifier.....

Cleaned and checked all connections, rebuilt the crossovers with new capacitors as they had given up whilst off the road.....

I then refitted it all making sure it all worked and cleaned the electric aerial while I was at it.........

Then it was onto the Greddy Profec B II ......... have been dreading setting this up..... I have read the manual a few times now and have set it up as best I can......

I have set the low at 10psi, and warning at 12.5psi so I can get it to the MOT okay tomorrow...... I need someone to talk me through this setting up......lol

I topped up all fluids, tested lights, checked tyre pressures, put in some fuel, debated fitting my harnesses but decided to wait till after MOT......lol

I then emptied out all my tools, clamps, pipes and spares that were dumped in the boot.......

New number plates all on and done.....

Can't think of anything else and now getting nervous.................:scared::sweatdrop::helpsmilie::hurl:

You have been busy today mate.

Finger crossed your zed flies through the mot tomorrow mate, but after the lists of bits you've been doin over the last 7 years :) I'm sure it'll be fine.

I am sooooo nervous now..... No going back.....lol..... if she passes I will be happy, if she fails I may not be able to afford to fix her for a while......lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

I recon it will be fine. I deliberately pick an mot station that's about 5 miles of national dual carriageway away to get some warmth into her and clean the crap. It's gotta be better than just rolling round the corner on a condensation filled cold car.

That's cos there are no proper laws in this country, they make them up as they go along lol.

I agree, been going to same MOT station for 22 years now because they are honest...... They only fail or advisory genuine things.... If say something they can fix in minutes is wrong they will do it and pass it..... bulbs, etc...

All the car dealers, taxi's and regulars keep going back as you know he will tell you if he thinks you will need things doing that aren't advisory things as well......

Only thing that is now worrying me is the low front bumper and the brake testing rollers..... The MOT tester maybe removing the veilside front bumper today........ lol

I shall let you all know when I get home....... and yes it is a 20 minute run to the MOT station, enough time to see home the build is running........ fingers crossed..... taking oil, transmission fluid and water in case...... lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Just checked my MOT status online. I'd forgotten I'd had it MOTd in May last year. I might get it taxed this week! Weather's half decent again - no salt on the roads and it's dry. But the roads are trash at the moment. :(

Thanks for all your best wishes............ But didn't even get to the MOT......... she started missing badly and smelling of exhaust gasses just up the road......... Oil in the rad.......... head gaskets gone and they were replaced just over a year ago with zero miles driven........

Now I need to strip engine, get heads checked again to see if they are straight and start all over again.......

Gutted........

Looks like I will be off the road for a while..........
