  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Took mine to Kraftwork this morning to get the rear bumper wet sanded and polished back up to remove some defects that had appeared since it was repainted. It’s difficult to tell from the pics but they show the matte finish left from wet flattening. As good as Davide’s work is, I like to finish it down to an even glossier finish, so now just to buzz over it with my finishing polish before the weekend. [emoji41]

[emoji2359] Richard... AUP... Pics ffs!

Yup - I know JP..... Lighting is not so good in the garage, so the 'phone pics did not do it any justice. Honest...

Besides, I still haven't re-fitted the wipers yet:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yesterday I managed to buzz out the marks left behind from the wet sanding at Kraftwork. There were some areas that hadn’t been fully polished out and, although the car looks nice and shiny from a distance (as you can see in the video), when you get a bit closer and stick a light source on it, it reveals all sorts of swirly nasties. Nothing a session when the S20 couldn’t solve though:

Before...

After...

The pic videos shows some dust and the odd fleck of a swirl, but it’ll do a trip! I hadn’t done the area below the pinstripe for comparison. Later on in the year (hopefully in a new garage), I’ll spend a good session buzzing it to perfection before trying a ceramic coat.

Today I gave the rest of the car a quick wash, the interior a spruce up, took the rear wheels off to clean up the patchy disc hubs (looking forward to getting my AP 2 piece discs) and hard wired in a Garmin dashcam! All set for the weekend I reckon [emoji106]

Quite a busy day. Managed to eventually MOT the Z. Then catastrophic engine failure.... cloud of white smoke and died.

Atleast it looks good sitting in the garage. I am more dissapointed that i will not be able to use it as our wedding car next week than it breaking. I am not sure just happened. Will need ti raise it up and have a look. There is coolant splashes at the front of engine bay. Barely runs/starts and loads of sweet white smoke. Hope it is only a headgasket. I did shut off quickly so hope no more damage done.

Hope its not to bad mate.

Got home from work this evening and went straight into the garage to re-fit the wipers....

...Amazing how a simple thing can make a big improvement! Shame I scratched one a little, when the spanner slipped - but fortunately it doesn't show too much. A little bit of tough-up paint hides the worst for now. Luckily it's right where the nut-cover sits; so I can easily respray that section another time:wink:

No time for pics - you'll see it Saturday...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Drove one to work, came home, cleaned the other ready for tommorow

I used mine today - could not be bothered to move the cars around after getting home yesterday.....

I have put it back in the garage tonight though; and also spent half an hour polishing the bonnet.... Neighbour's fooking cat jumped on it last night and left behind some scratches...

I was parked in Julia's regular spot; so whilst the bloody animal probably jumps onto her car, the paint on her Rangie is pretty tough!! I clean it with the same care as my Zed and AMG - and rarely do I spot a new scratch on that!!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Finally fitted the two new targa trims that I have had in the garage for nearly a month :innocent:

Hopefully temporarily patched up my fuel tank after my fuel leak the other day. I'll test it with fuel in a couple of days giving it a chance to cure. I'll have a new tank soon thanks to Gray donating one. Big thanks again.

Fingers crossed, I'll make it along to the lakes drive next month!
