  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Collected it from the garage this morning with a nice series 2 PTU fitted.....

And as it's dry and sunny here, I'm now going to wash (and maybe wax) it....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Finally had a couple of hours to work on the new zed today. Fitted the rear wheels I've borrowed off Ian, thanks mate, new seats fitted & new bumper trial fitted. Gonna get rid of the round fog lights & the side vents.

I took delivery of these today

Hope that's camera lens effect 'cos the bottom ones don't look parallel. I had serious ag with mine:

Get a setsquare on them before you fit them. Might save some time.

Oh, and to keep in topic, what did I do to mine today? Trundled to the local car wash and tried to get some photo flare trendy effect when I noticed the sun. Oh well, still looks nice.

No Patrick Lichfield but then he never had a Z.

Oh and checked the tyres, oil, auto fluid, PS fluid, radiator, took some leaves out of the grille and thought must get round to painting the wiper arms front and read. Oh and there's a paint chip. And a spot of rust. And must polish the targa glass from the inside. Oh and ... sodit, let's go to the pub and draw up a list...

I thought they were directional and therefore nosy poised to be parrell?

Parallel and square and the same (i.e. NOT handed). You can see in the pic I posted that one is different to the other. That's not right. From phutumsch's pic his look different also. Might be camera perspective so they're OK really. Here's another pic trying to illustrate:

Scan_Pic0001.jpg

The T piece at each end should be orthogonal (right angles). And they twist round the axis of the joining piece. So the top one in this pic seems OK. But the bottom one you can clearly see the left hand end is not straight and is different to the top one.

Lol thanks :) im going to get them refurbished thinking a high gloss bronze colour

Looked at mine again and again and they're very true, oh and thanks the wife spotted them after having put them away, 'what's those' she says - I tells her. How much ? I tells her. New they are £190 I added thinking she'd be happy with hubby getting a 2nd hand bargain.

Didn't wash though I am going to have to stump up for some botox for her now so they've ended up costing me a fortune :headvswal.

Amateur! Everything a tenner you should know that by now.

:rofl: ive got 2 repainted wings..a front bumper and a pair of skirts at the painters as we speak.Bargin of the year as there only £120 for the lot:whistling:...only problem is i cant tell the wife to pick them up for me

Honesty is the best policy....is it not .

Anyway the tenner rule can cut both ways, she'll give you £40.00 for xmas and that is all - diddly squat else, you'll then look at it and wave it a little, she'll see you and say 'what's up', before you're given time to reply she'll say with a razor tongue 'but I know you can get so much with that' !!!

You need to give me the number of that painter Bri . I just get everything posted to my mum & dads house so she doesn't notice.

LOL - tell her it doesn't work Andy......

.....Because, actually, it doesn't!!! So you're certainly better off spending money on things for your ZX, because there is a real (as opposed to a perceived) benefit in doing that:wink:

I took my TT for mot today, the last one expired in 2008, and it passed with flying colours. Thanks to Mr Lee Dent again.

congratulations mate. Now you can enjoy all your hardwork. :)

Took it on a little 100-or-so mile round trip, now that my PTU issue is resolved......

.....I have to say, the car felt a whole lot better; the engine seemed smoother and more responsive..... It's good to have it back again:thumbup:

Good news Rich and a 100 mile test drive should confirm all is well ;)

Cheers Gaz - and it was a thorough drive too; some fast A-road overtaking, a 3 mile motorway traffic jam, some town driving and a good hard motorway blast when the traffic (and fog) cleared

All was well and the Z was back to its old self once again

I finish work early on a Friday so thought I would get into the garage to check what is wrong with a misfire I am having with the zed. Did a ecu check and got a code 34 (det sensor) Now I remember when changing the spark plugs a few weeks ago I moved the balance bar back and knocked the det sensor harness of its holder so checked it out and all looked fine. I opened the harness connector up and put it back and did another ecu check and this time got code 55 :thumbup1: So I am hoping that is it fixed will test drive it tomorrow and report back :sweatdrop:

You got me worried now Bri lol I didn't start the engine just switched the ignition on after I fiddled with the harness and got the code 55 I guess a test drive will see if its fixed or not!
