  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I understand that Chris but I thought it was mostly for cars with McPhearson struts where the towers are tall and are part of the triangle. We don’t have that, we have squat towers, the mounts are very close to the chassis rails and triangluation from the suspension itself.

Hopefully Pete will enlighten us as to what difference was made in reality on his next track day.

i can probably enlighten you now!!:lol:

Exactly!

I won't notice any difference Im sure. Just like i havn't noticed any difference with the change of headers or the change to Volks forged wheels with Dunlop Direzza and Toyo R888 on instead of the Federal 595RS I used to run.

I was slow n steady before all these changes and Im still slow n steady after them.

Steady and consistent Pete.

Thoroughly good clean after a long road trip through parts of Eastern and northern France. All ready for Beaulieu next weekend. :)

Just the exhausts to finish off.

These arrived today, something I thought had gone NLA. They're the original fit spats for Euro and US cars (not a fan of the large JDM things) . They're contoured and very subtle. I have them on the front and stupidly gave the rears away, but want to protect my paint a little better.

I'd rather do without them, but you barely notice these.

Have you tried the paint protection film?

Where did you get these Si? (and how much)...I have been trying for some time to track them down...every site in the US that says they have them.... can't fulfil the order once you try to buy!

Yes and I don't like the way you lose the clarity of shine on the paint. Also, the fronts I absolutely have to have as I want my rear wheels shielded from any incoming.

I already have a set of the fronts on my car which will be coming off soon. You can see them in my sig, they're ever so subtle.

Yesterday and today I had my reverse light fixed, fog light wired correctly, Blitz BOVs fitted and recircs removed and blocked, deleted the cruise control, tucked a few wires, replaced the drivers caliper as I had 2 stuck solid pistons, replaced the white leather binnacle top cover with a black leather one and planned my next moves for tomorrow and Friday....change the targa plastic trim behind the handle for new one, change the two triangular bushes under the steering wheel as mine have lateral play and relocate my PTU under the nose cone. So not a lot really!!!!

The less said about the BOVs the better but why did you delete the cruise control!?

Because it’s usless clutter in a sports car in a country where you cannot cruise for more than 10 yards. The only time I’ve ever been able to use cruise control is aboard or at 4am. It’s about as pointless as the BOVs you hate so much.

Rubbish!

Absolute rubbish, couldn't agree more. If you don't use it, don't turn it on. Despecifing the car is nonsensical.

I use my CC all the time. There are plenty of opportunities to use it and wouldn't live without it now.

Rubbish!

Your right it’s rubbish. Oh I forget it can be of use in average speed camera zones. If you want to sit there doing nothing take the train!

Each to there own Si re: BOV's, don't use the cruise, going for a clean shaved look on the bay, less to go wrong in the future. My car isn't the best example in the world and so decided that I wanted it to look just the way I wanted so out it comes....If the car was super clean i'd keep it looking stock but she isn't. Just adds value to the rest of yours I guess...although to be fair its in far, far better condition than when I first had it, im just glad its on the road and I am enjoying it.

Was there anything wrong with your stock recircs? If not do you want to sell them?

Nothing at all from what I can ascertain. They will be going up for sale either today or tomorrow with pipes and bolts. If you want them ill photograph and give you first refusal. My mechanic said that they are in good unrusted condition as some tend to degrade near the top of the recirc...apparently!

I agree with the cruise control thing too, never used. BOV's, probably just a chav at heart! Sorry...loL

Again Si, my car is no show room car and probably not worth a lot with or without cruise. They're easy enough to fit and get hold of. Just glad to be shedding some weight...God knows I cant!
