  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Best place for it! Better than gluing to some conspicuous part of the dash.
Gluing?!? Woodscrews for me mate

While doing some trouble shooting on zebedees heating system ive learned i probably need a new control unit the actuators are not receiving any power so i need a replacement one of these......so if anyone has one they wish to part with (yes very long shot i know) the cash is waiting

Now Ian, you may be a very lucky lad..

I am 95% positive that the little box of tricks you require, may just be sitting in a box in my aladdins cave at the end of my garden..

Can you send me the Poo number that's on it, just to be sure.

I'm fairly certain that the one I have is in a transparent (kind of milky transparent) casing.

Let me have the number and I'll go check the workshop..

That would be ace buddy however the unit is back in the car i only have the above photos. If the plug sockets look the same we might be in business

Keep up the good work GD and get your Z back on the road. Was good to meet you at the weekend in Coventry :thumbup1:

I'm going to the cave now Ian.. Will let you know asap

Would you mind sharing a pic and the part number? I have the same issue.

Will do when i find it Jay.. I'm having an issue with my ability to tidy up and arrange a storage system that doesn't comprise of boxes with bottoms that fall out and labelled simply Z..

I swear if I were to arrange things better I'd probably have time to rebuild my car in the amount I lose just trying to find stuff!

Gaz, you really don't know how close to the truth that is!

There are very dangerous contraptions and formulas in my workshop, none of which are visible until you fall over them haha..

More of a man trap cave sometimes

Many thanks to Lee Dent as always. Last minute warning and diagnosed the missfire swiftly, running on all 6 again and much smoother now. Top bloke

Also trip to Keith's and respray details are laid out. Rust repairs will have to be redone properly to be safe, and we found another rust hole in front of the rear wheel. Oh well.

Just a thought Joel, but if they were to both point outwards, they would not distract the eye away from the throttle linkage.

With the greatest of respect you understand mate.

The T bolt clamps had to go! I'm just not digging the aesthetics of them so I dug out my stock jubilees and gave them a polish up. This pic shows stock on the left and the T bolt on the right:

Need to sort out the power steering pot next.

A brand new genuine starter motor is such a beautiful and welcome thing! I'm sure this little baby will do another 27 years! Another 8 week wait, but worth it to fit quality genuine components.

I hope so too! It should do as it's mostly a hot start issue which points to a starter motor. Still waiting on quite a number of other new parts to come from Japan (genuine).

It needed to be replaced anyway, so even if the issue is still there it's still money well spent.

After seeing all your cars at the AGM I have now got the bug. As soon as I have got a few other bits sorted, from next year, I am going to start replacing and restoring all thhe parts on the car for as near to new as poss. Makes them look so much nicer. Im still gonna be outlandish as always but the inspiration to find genuine parts, like starter motors and such like where possible may have bitten me... good call

Cheers buddy, i appreciate that. I am really enjoying ownership and you guys have made it even better by being a cracking bunch of knowledgable people. Yours too was a great inspiration, like Funkisi's Zed. One day mine will be great again...hope Lee dent knows what he has got himself into here!!!
