  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Hi Stephen, no not yet as the z is in for MOT today & time only to get those bits off.

I want it on the road for the Brighton run!

The Selin bracket doesn't fit JDM models, (the mounting on the crash bar is slightly different as they have different bars to USDM) I had to fill a 25mm gap between the MAF brace plate and the T bracket support arm from the crash bar:

I was just going to bolt in 25mm box section to fill the gap and I mounted my EBC solenoid on a bracket I made to the side:

Having the solenoid to the side wasn't ideal as to keep the 2 lengths even, it was adding an extra 10+" of hose. I decided to mount it on the MAF cross brace plate as it sits nicely there but as the footprint was a bit too wide the bolts would foul the MAFs. I just used 10mm spacers and longer bolts under the brace plate to give clearance for the bolts/nuts to mount the solenoid:

With this fitted, the 25mm box section I was going to use to fill the gap, became 35mm because of the spacers and as luck would have it:

So I chopped it to length and drilled as required:

Prime, paint and put some black capping on it for no apparent reason!:

Filled the gap nicely and now the whole assembly is now properly supported:

Sorry for the random picture post, but thought I'd share a constructive afternoon! Not sure if anyone has bought a Selin kit recently but they seem to have moved on to moulded rubber instead of silicon for the hoses, very nice bit of kit:

I also gave the rocker covers a little spruce up. I'm still undecided between black or silver though (leaning more towards black):

All the trims replaced now! Targas both done and the new door strips fitted aswell.. Now hoping the targas don't leak after the rebuild.. I can finally move the windows up and down without that nasty squeak and the glass is no longer being scratches to buggery either..

Time for a trip to Mr Dent for an oil change and a small oil leak fixing.. I'm on the lookout for some nismo 555s so if anyone has a set going spare, let me know.. DSC_0168.jpg

Well let me know when you have them sorted Andrew and I'll take them off your hands.

Need to get an adapter kit for the new style connectors aswell.

So does that mean the nismo 555 are pintle injectors?

I'm more leaning towards pintleless ones as I'm kinda tired of the unreliability of the pintle style ones!

Nismo 555s are pintle injectors. If you want pintle less injectors you will need to go for the Nismo/Tomei/HKS 740cc type.

The 615cc pintle less injectors have been largely been superseded by the 740cc types for Z32 applications but are still

available from some vendors.

Yup, as above, 740s are the ones to go for. A great way to futureproof your Z. They'll be going on mine soon along with a new engine harness.

I did a buy.

Bought a K reg UK spec TT auto.

£1500 bargain. Pics will follow when it arrives [emoji4]

Finally after over a year managed to get my mitts on a series 2 climate control ECU so finally got that installed, now to fix all 5 fault codes xD

I'm sure they have a price tag to match the flow rate right?

I did see a set of injectors on Z1 not that long ago that were on sale, maybe these are the 615 size. $700 price tag plus shipping and taxes.. Not the kind of cash I have spare of late, but I guess I'll be looking around that figure in the end.

Remap required I would presume aswell?

The chip that Lee installed I doubt will be compatible with the injectors without remapping..

Probably just aswell though as I need the EBC programmed aswell as it's never been done since it was installed..

Well done on the mot passes guys and mine is up tomorrow so fog light is back on and that's me ready. Wish me luck.
