• We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I decided in the end to go for something a little bigger although the tyres are rubbing a bit at the moment

Look nice! I'm sure it's a lil taut! Are they adjustable so you can tweak the height and comfort

Same here, I still wanted air con even with the tops off! I hate not having it, makes driving it uncomfortable

In Mississippi in the USA it's simply UNBEARABLE without AC!!! We literally need AC from April until October! During the months of June-early September we could have many 90-100f deg days with the heat indexes of 115f and our humidity is stifling! So no AC no car

THIS!

AZ is even worse, but the humidity of the south is awful in late spring through to early fall.

Ha yea I can believe that. I don't know what it is about my zed, but it seems really warm inside even when the outside temperature is only 10-15C, far more so than any other car I've owned. Glass roof maybe...

Think the rear needs a little stretch on the tyres as the coilovers are as high as they go. Unfortunately I did have to man handle the inner arch lip with a hammer but it still rubs slightly.

The arch lip on those is double or is it triple thickness. Rock hard. I mate has the same age Beemer and the arch lips are massive.

The lip at the back of the arch is where it is catching and yeah it's huge! Took a lot of hammering to bring it in a tiny bit but only just not enough so new tyres on the back at the weekend!

Only just got a pic of this... Got this bottom engine cover from Chris Kelsall. Looking forward to getting round to fitting it now!

Who?

Oh right didn't realise he did stuff like that. Where was that advertised?

He didn't have it advertised, he said I could have the under engine panel from his breaker if I removed it but when I did it was in very poor condition with some rips in the plastic. He dug this out of his garage as he got it with one of his front bumpers a few years back but never wanted to fit it. It looks to be a very nice fit:)

Sanded down all the bubble rust to assess then put a couple of coats of zink primer to protect until I get back off holiday and buy a welder

Looks nice coopd.. Even colour coded huh!

I need to get some alloy and make a bottom cover for mine as the K&N air filter is exposed to the elements at the moment..

Not so good in wetter weather..

Anyways, I got a package this morning from a very mice gentleman. It contained a used and quite tired looking three piece stainless slam panel cover.

I had just enough time to work some magic in the two outer sections that sit behind the headlights.

Forgot to take photos of the "before" but i got this picture of the after

Looking forward to dipping the centre section tomorrow and getting it on the car ready for the show in maldon on Sunday..

I had an old friend who used to lead fill and silver solder things like that Sean. He would remove the rusted piece and then mould from the inside with modelling clay. Then either fill the void with lead or put a patch in and weld it.

Just a thought but maybe you could do the same thing?

The clay is perfect cos you can heat it to extremes without any damage so filling with lead is simple. Silver solder is also a good way to do it if you don't want to fabricate it.
