  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

definitely paul see you got your zed through the mot ok hope mine goes the same way I don't think people seen a zed in Lowestoft the amount of people stop and look at her parked on the front love it

Well yesterday I invented a whole new load of swear words whilst attempted to remove a shattered front undertray whilst trying not to sheer the bolts. You'd think some people had never fecking heard of Copperslip.

Copperslip whats that?

I do need some inner polished pipes with red hoses, not the outer ones as these are already silver and hard with my BOV's on them but anyway today a couple of tiny jobs as I try to make it better so I have a chance in another months COTM .

Sprayed and lacquered the end bit on the bonnet catch and under the Z32, etc on the Tokyo Auto panel badge in red to match other stuff I have the same in the engine bay :thumbup1:.

You're missing a fan shroud matey :)

Today I started the 3rd and final phase of my mammoth underseal project that seems to be taking the whole of our summer, doh! So this phase is the front end, inner arches, radiator front mount and all that lovely stuff. Probably the easiest of the areas in some respects as it's a bit more 'comfortable' to work in.

So everything comes off; undertrays, arch liners, wings, intercoolers, washer bottle, expansion etc... Naturally, I had several sheared studs/bolts, broken clips and all that extra work drilling stuff out thinking 'why did I start this ffs'! Prep any dry areas, thorough clean, penetrating wax then a coat of underbody wax before it all goes back. It was a good opportunity to finally fit my greddy intercoolers that have been in storage for probably 4 years now  The oem ducts are designed to bolt straight onto the greddys but I decided to fettle them a little to give a more efficient seal and fit around the front bumper inlets better.

I know these other branded massively tall fandangled intercoolers are superior in performance to the greddys on paper but I still recall a test stateside that proved the greddys as best performer with the stock bumper utilising the ducts. With all the others you need extra air inlets and even then, the airflow needs to be ducted to force it through the matrix and not round the side. Tomorrow I will look into the options for alternate locations/parts for the washer bottle.

Well Jr and I have had another cracking day over at kjz32's, (Keith's). Targas off and a beautiful drive from Liverpool to Corwen in North Wales.

We have put brand new scuttle panels on (thanks Mandy). Nice shiney chrome interior door handles. a nice carbon fibre (effect) front number plate surround. and made a good start at a double din stereo facia mod. All in all a cracking day (thanks Keith).....:bow:

Then a really nice drive back, again no targas. Brilliant day and lots done to my Zed, what else could beat that?

I sold it only to find out later that they can be adapted to fit an aftermarket rad but I'm not bothered for getting another.

Car passed MOT today with no advisories for the 4th year on the trot in my ownership, I notice I have every MOT certificate, so therefore proof of mileage from when my car entered the country in 2006 :thumbup1:.

Then I treat it to some Tesco Momentum 99 and had a blast on the M65 to celebrate...............keeping under the speed limit at all times of course :whistling:.

Had a drive into town, looking for a torks tool so I can take the steering wheel off and send it to Mondo to be recovered.

Spent hours cleaning it, lots of dust and polish residue and all sorts post respray in the seams and shuts. So used a credit card and cloth round all that. Used auto glym gel on all the rubbers and black bits then fitted a strut brace. Drove it roof off windows down awesome. Strut brace makes a subtle difference better feedback from the front end on turn in I thought.

Had to remove and thread a fuel line through the brace, as we all know it's a game of tetris under that bonnet.

Fixed my passenger side indicator on the front bumper, apparently the wire for the middle prong decided to let go so had to get the soldering iron out and redo it.
