My OEM bulb holders fitted straight into both pairs of clear repeaters I've bought... I know that doesn't help you and I'm not trying to wind you up - I'm just genuinely surprised that a different holder is needed!

To be honest mondo, the way my lucks been the last couple of years, I wasn't suprised at all! Lol..

Everything's a bit on top at the moment and my stress levels are going slightly higher than is safe for human health, so I'm a tad temperamental and touchy at present..

I know I shouldn't allow that to filter in to here, but sometimes it can't be helped..

I got red on my ones - I think they look good, but mine are BBS originals which have a slightly different design.

Damn your tires are shiny, what do you use?

I like those too, but I wanted silver letters instead of the gold for my red car... Also the original BBS centers fit my wheels opening. Actually my black carbon fiber were ordered from Subaru for the WRX BBS rims.

Step back and take a breather mate:thumbup1:. You aren't the first and you certainly won't be the last to get stressed out over these cars and the rigmarole that comes from owning them. We've all lost the head at one time or another, take a break from it for a while and you'll come back stronger:thumbup1:

Chin up matey:thumbup1:

Me RUNS!!!:devil2: you better run!

Hi mate

I had exactly the same with mine and suffering from and extreme lack of patience/ idiocy/ beer I attacked them with my leatherman.

They are a lot harder to break than you think.

10 minutes and all was good.

These cars are a real rollercoaster ride but don't lose heart they are worth it.

I'm sure if it does all go tits up some one on here will have some.

Thanks Richie, I'd like to say it was the car, but it isn't.. Unfortunately sometimes people innocently post replies to threads amd don't think about it from the other side of the coin.. Not at all their fault as they aren't to know someone else's circumstances.

Apologies if I've exploded on the forum a little, as I said to mondo, life's a little on top at the moment. Money is tighter than usual right now, jobs on the car are building up also jobs on the house and garden, I'm not in great health and am looking at a big change of circumstances in the not too distant future and to top it all, the wife is facing a cancer scare at the moment..

I'm gonna take some time out from here for a bit cos I can't seem to avoid the urge to bite people, so I'll bid y'all farewell for a while. I'm going to Scotland on Saturday for four days to do some fishing and clear my head a little. Time to think and all that.. Hopefully I'll come back a little more relaxed as I'm used to being..

Apologies again everyone.

Mine were the same as NemesizX, although they included bulb holders so it was just chopping the existing wiring.

Mine too, I forgot about that. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't z32 specific but just fit.

Mate it's a car. It sounds like you have bigger priorities so **** it. In all honesty stop modifying it, it's the biggest outlay and mostly it has no repay. Fancy rear lights don't make it a better car etc. Just drive it and maintain it. The cosmetic just arnt worth it.

Only just read all this! Looks like I opened a can of worms!

Anyway, let me check my bulb fitments on the car when I get it back... Should be a couple of weeks.

If its the ones your after I don't mind sending you them... Not sure what condition they are in but if they're good you can have them:)

Put velcro tape on this so it doesn't fall off every time I accelerate... cheap fix ;-)

I really appreciate your kindness coopd but honestly I don't want you to send me yours..

If you go back to the start of all this, you'll see that I just asked anyone knew where I could get the bulb holders, that's all...

It annoyed me when I got the response of "just buy a new set for £20 and throw the ones I've got as I'd only be losing £12"

£12 is £12.. I don't throw money away as I don't have the luxury of being able to! What with all that's going on around me at present, I lost it a little!

Look, you're a great bunch of guys here, I am grateful for the kind offers sent. I'll adapt what I have and wait until I have the money to replace them if needs must. I've had orange indicators for the last 8 months and it's not gonna hurt for another couple.

I'm just frustrated because I spend my spare cash on trying to get my car how Id like it as it's the only hobby I really have anymore. It seems that because I can't afford to but new stuff most of the time, everything I try and do ends up costing more and the jobs are twice as annoying as they never seem to go right and end up needing doing again.. Even the leds I bought new for the dash have had faulty ones that have meant continuously pulling the dash out to change out the dodgy ones!

Working 60+ hours a week on nights doesn't give me a lot of spare time and I'm sure everyone appreciates the fact that the Z projects are never straight forward. Limited time, money and decent weather, coupled with the recent stress has kind of put me in to meltdown and I over reacted..

Like I said previously, I apologise for filling the thread with my angst.

I'll try to adapt the ones I've got for now and if they disintegrate whilst trying, I'll buy some new ones in a couple of months... God only knows I've got enough projects on the go to keep me busy! It'd just be nice to finish one for once...

My old ones are the clear lenses... The rubber seal had split on the passenger side which is the reason I'm swapping mine for replacement ones. I know you've said its ok but like I said you can have the old ones. If your rubber seals are ok on your set then these will be ok for yours. PM me your address and I'll post them out to you when I get my car back. :)

I'm calling this "could do with a garage day". Cleaning moss out of various seals, and correcting a few imperfections around the tops with kurust and paint. At least it's sunny. Is there anything I can treat the rubber with to keep moss away?

Passenger side seal split on mine too! If anyone knows where I can buy ones with decent seals, I am interested. The seals on my standard ones are glued on or as good as, so not going to try swap them.

If you're careful Dutch, you can peel the old seals off the standard ones and use tiger seal with a small brush to reseal them to your new ones..

As for the Moss, I've used an x5 steam mop to clean mine and as it boils the Moss it should kill the stuff that makes it grow in the first place.. It's worked for me so worth a try if you have a steamer..

Coopd, thanks mate..

No problem, I'll message you in a couple of weeks:)

I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't z32 specific but just fit.

I dont think they are.

Some sellers do try and point that out.....................

The UK bulbholder has 3 lugs. This unit is for a bulbholder with 2 lugs. Either remove one of the lugs (check which ones line up) or file a 3rd slot in the light to accept the UK bulbholder. (Carefully! Damaged lights cannot be returned)

These lights are intended for UK/European models. Fitment on an import may differ and these lights may not be suitable.

Sold as a Pair

Content of Carton: 2 x lenses, 2 x amber bulbs, bulbholders

This item is not e-approved

Suitable for both Right Hand Drive and Left Hand

They just talk garbage tho ... the two lug light they sell has the slots facing each other. ie at 180deg

The three lug bulb holder has the three slots at 120degree so they will never line up if you cut one off:thumbdown:

It's easier with a set of needle files to mark the 3 holes round the 2 lug hole version, line one lug up with one of the 2 holes, then file out 2 new slots.....

I modified mine very carefully and it fits nice and snug......

Don't modify the bulb holder, do the hole it fits into....

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Or you could buy the 501 bulb holder from ebay???

About £3.00 each..... or try breakers yard??

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Thanks for all your input, I decided a while ago that if I couldn't get the bulb holders that id attempt to file the light fitting to fit the holders I have, So I'll give that a go.

Coopd has kindly offered me his old set when he replaces his in a couple of weeks, so if I manage to damage the ones I've got now, it's no big catastrophe..

Hopefully all will go well, but ya never know!

I'll attempt it when I get back from my break as if I try it now and it goes pear shaped I'm likely to chuck a spanner through the windscreen! just not in the right frame of mind now so best to come at it when I'm more chilled lol

I don't think I'll chance ruining a good set of OEM ones for a cheap set of aftermarket ones! Interesting idea for the moss though - does the heat not cause any damage?

Good decision, I think the look much nicer overall with the moustache and the mirror bases dark grey and the roof bars gloss black [emoji106] what colour are you having the moustache and mirror bases?

Changed my mind last minute! Instead of a gloss black tache and mirror surrounds, I'm going for Toyota 1G3:)

Good! This was what I told Joel to go for. It's basically shade-matched to the original finish on the mirror housing.

I got red on my ones - I think they look good, but mine are BBS originals which have a slightly different design.
