  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Nicely done Ian

Thanks matey.

Also got an update from my good friend at Team Chihuahua

All 4 wheels hand sanded through 8 grades, ready for more polishing!! the tit at the body shop who was going to paint inside the spokes thought that the masking tape was some kind of super protector and had damaged the finished surface... Don't know what he was throwing on them but they've had to be redone from scratch!!

See pics below

Glad they got to you OK

So today I'm going to be machine polishing the Aluminium Clock Rings and fitting them to the clocks, painting up the metal headlight brackets and getting my new key cut, pics up later on today:thumbup1:

I should really set up a build thread:innocent:

Correct, but don't fill it with detail on how you spray canned the car and covered it in fibreglass, fitted cable ties, fifteen different wings and drilled holes in it to secure various body panels with rubber bands and string!

I should really set up a build thread:innocent:

I think that's long overdue. Should do it now before the work really begins!

Ian, do you have anymore of those Arubadave red Z badges?

Sorry Si none left I didn't even keep one back for myself. I'll get some more with the next keys group buy.

Right, I've just spent the guts of 4 hours doing up a build thread only to realise when I've too much info by way of pics and links for it to post:no::no: hoping an Administator can sort it out for me:sad::sad:. So I've gotten nothing physically done today:thumbdown:. Oh, I nearly forgot.... Sold my Stihl chainsaw which gives me the few quid required to get the engine finally fitted.

Got my key cut and checked that it works in the cars locks and ignition, All good:thumbup1: and while I was up at the garage booked the Z in for it's Heart Transplant:thumbup:. I've told them that the start date and timeframe is to be set in concrete as I don't want it dragging on. Engine Swap on 01/02/16 people:thumbup::thumbup:

Fingers crossed:innocent::yes:

Just break it up. Copy and paste sections into individual posts. I think the system only accepts 15 or something photos per post.

I'm hoping Lee can work his magic on it first, if not I'll try that Si, the missus is going to kill me if I'm still fluting around on this damn computer when she gets home. Thanks a lot mate!! This is all your fault:lol::laugh::lol:

"Do a Build Thread" He said, "It'll be Great" he said, "Don't put in any spray can painting or fibreglassing" He said!!!

No worries Gaz, it's pretty much taken out of this thread up till today, took me ages to find all my posts and pics, I'm frigging useless with copying / pasting and computers in general. Hell, I've to use my phone to post the pics:innocent:

These indicators in the first pic are pretty much mint but ever so chromy, should that be a bad thing.

Rather than open up those, i acquired another set not just as mint which i thought i would play about with and so today i tinted them a little .

Refitted freshly powdercoated balance bar + fuel line with new OEM bolts/nuts. Bid and won on OEM steering wheel - yup, returning most things to stock. Found a good steering wheel, couldn't resist - with an Aurbadave red emblem, it should look spiffing! My nearly-new Nardi Torino will be up for sale shortly and possibly my chrome dial-surrounds.

Also fettled around with my new interior to get everything 'just so'. Just need to pick up the seats and door cards - modify the door cards and then fit - old custom leather interior will then go to its new owner Gary. :)

Cleaned the top end of the engine with a tooth brush and 1:1 APC cleaner - looks great! I have some replacement rocker covers also which I am going to have powdercoated - OEM colours of course! :)

I do too - I am going OEM though.....I may keep with them. I'm even going to re-instate the aerial too! Crazy huh!

Airbag wheel?

Nope. Original 89-95 wheel. I actually prefer the look of my Nardi wheel, the OEM wheel feels a little nicer. I've just had this overwhelming urge to go back to stock visuals bar the rear spoiler, wheels and other mechanical upgrades.

I blame AndrewG and JoelyP if I'm honest!

Dibs on your ariel setup, if you're letting it go:whistling::w00t:

Spent most of the weekend clearing out junk from the garage via tip runs... and finally got the zed in the garage :) very happy to get her tucked away from the elements.

20160110_153454.jpg

Been running the consult program on my zed and along with the invaluable help of mark Kent, have found that my Z has been running in safe boost. Turns out my det sensor has failed and is affecting the cars running. The revs are a little high also and the aac valve value is at 44% rather than the 15% at tickover.

I knew she wasn't running quite right but it's amazing how these things could go almost unnoticed if I hadn't paid attention. Anyway, now I know what's wrong I'm on the case. Starting to get a little braver with spanner turning on this car..

The year im focusing all my energy in to getting the Z looking and running it's best.

Nice size garage

Was one of the main selling points of my house for me. Only taken me 3 months to clear the clutter from the move, though lol.
