  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I fitted my oem rears since one tire failed horrible at a track event.

I almost think they look better than the 17's so I thinking about swapping the fronts too...

But. Looking at the info on the sidewall, these said "retreaded made in England". Who puts retreads on a sportscar? Cheap *******...

I'll be grannydriving 'till I get some new wheels then

i like the stock wheels 17 or 18 inch wheels max look fine 19s look to big and are out of proportion and dont look odd

I wouldn't risk driving it with those tyres on mate, if you have an accident even if its not your fault and the assessor see's its got the wrong tyres on for the car you may find your insurance is void.

I am indeed. Spoke to Lee on Friday, it'll defo be ready for Saturday now. I'll be ordering my JAE tickets this time next week if all is good!

Went rooting around the shed to get parts out from 5-6 years ago, Z is hopefully going in next Monday so I've to get everything up to the garage..

Nice work Gaz:thumbup:.

Been busy myself today, finished polishing up the exhausts and rooted out the 2 1/2" test pipes? I think that's what they're called.

Came to an agreement with the powdercoaters:yes:

These arrived in the post today..

I'll have an update on this tomorrow :thumbup1:

Silly price those dust caps. I replaced the nipples with SS ones but the caps were fortunately in great condition.

I've no original parts on these..

So everything will have to be brand new!! Just getting the small bits and pieces until I get a few quid in:thumbup1:

Brembo apparently don't distribute the 46mm piston for the Evo calipers, so I'm keeping an eye out for either a wrecked set for spares or a brand new set of aftermarket ones, no cash at the min with the pickup being done. I've sourced a stainless steel set in the U.S. But they're big bucks!!

God I hope they're not, I paid a lot of money for them after being ripped off for a set once already!!!

John Dixon would have been a straight up guy and I trust he didn't shaft me..

See posts below..

Well now I've given up trying to sell my apparently worthless zed....

I pulled the plenum to delete the water pipes, only to find more then a few missing gasket, guess it pays to work for Nissan as I'd already ordered the replacements, after a good clean and a bit of paint it's back together and running really well, my boost controller needs setting up again now, must have been some major boost leaks under there...

Got to work on the Calipers, gave them a good clean and applied my new Heat resistant Logo's. I went for silver rather than the usual white logo's.:thumbup1:

Think they look totally different and really classy with the silver breaking up the red.

Makes a difference that. I'm going to utilise some Nissan logos on mine, to match the rear and have a more subtle look.

Caliper porn! Do yourself a favour with the injectors Richie, get the flow tested and (if required) ultrasonic cleaned.

Thanks Joel, yeah, I may get them tested. I don't think John Dixon was the type of guy to shaft anyone, but I'll be well pissed if I've been F*cked over again especially since the last time was over a fuel rail and injectors also:whistling:.

I'm going to be fitting the rear Evo's also Steve, so they'll all match up nicely. There are two places designing brackets for these rears which enables you to run bigger discs without interfering with the brake bias much. In fact it will have the same bias as the R34 GTR's.:punk: Should have some news back on these in a month or so:thumbup:

I collected a possible new exhaust from Jimmytt yesterday and met with the guy's who built his one off exhaust system for him..... Nice and very talented guys down in Orpington Kent.....

Their welding is gorgeous and they pay attention to detail......

Here is a quick before and after when I got home and started to clean off years of oil and muck.....

Top one is degreased and quickly wiped over with fine wire wool and the bottom is the caked with dirt and oil one......

Thanks again to Jimmytt for this to help me get to JAE....

FullSizeRender-7.jpg

Tonight I did clean the other one, just need to clean the centre section and plug the threaded hole up......

I also tried to remove my broken exhaust stud from the turbo elbow, but just managed to shear it off flush in the end.... so drilling it is this weekend.... lol

I don't mean necessarily to see if you've been shafted, chances are they'll be grand, but as they're used injectors and have not been used for sometime, it makes good sense to ensure they're performing well. A flow test will cost around £30 and if they need cleaning, you'll be looking at paying around £90 total, a small price to pay for piece of mind of such a critical component.
