  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Spent the day at Lee Dents place, had a one piece prop fitted, a few little niggles looked at & came away with a new interior & loads of other free bits. Thanks again Lee, Dan & Callum, the zed felt very smooth on the way home. Great to see everyone again.

Managed to get the coilovers sorted and all sitting at the same height had to make massive adjustments to get it down. Nearly over 4 inches. And then gave it a wee wash.

Got mine MoTd today! Passed with flying colours - when I say that, it did get advisories for the rear tyres which are being replaced for a different profile next week. The garage was really impressed with it and said it was one of the most up-together cars he'd seen in a long time, especially considering its age. That made me happy! :) It's always nice when someone impartial and unbiased says something like that.

Booked Zebedee in for a 2 day paint correction session.

A day of decontamination and a day under the power polisher

M8 if you can afford it get it ceramic coated after polishing been done and protect it I normally use liquid elements on my customers cars.

Lots done today. New rad bracket. Slam panel. Test fitted rear engine skin. New amp. New carpets. Fairlady z stickers. Some other bits :)

I cut out some gaskets for the rear lights from neoprene sheet with an adhesive backing..... This is a rough fitting that I am trimming up to fit snugly.....

It certainly a good idea, I've used neoprene before and it's incredibly easy to work with.

It'll compress nicely, the adhesive is an extra bonus and am sure Russ you've got the thickness spot on for a flush finish, top work .

Today ive had use of a ramp so I did Engine oil flush new filter and new oil and auto tranny fluid changed was black rather than cherry red like it is now also steering arm gaiter replaced and new fluid return line clamps fitted on rad happy zed day for me :)

Nice one.

Started replacing 2 damaged front wheel studs that the knuckle draggers at the tyre place cross threaded with the windy gun. Got it all in bits got the two damaged studs out then had to stop coz the replacement studs I have are for the rear hubs.....call to Mike Feeney tomorrow then to get the right ones.

Well it was the gaskets you sent me for the middle lighting section that gave me the idea..... So it is down to you.... So thank you..........

I have had to trim them a bit on the corners as they weren't quite flush and I am missing half of the captive nuts to hold the rear lights in properly..... so when I get the replacements I will trim them to fit perfectly..... lol

A new brake booster at last Si

There's a specialist company in the US that remanufactures them as you can't get them anymore - despite being listed on Courtesy Parts for nearly $900! It's fitted with new springs, valves and a diaphragm. Couple that with my fully refurbished GTR Brembo calipers (front and rear), the higher spec Brembo 'Sport' pads, new disks all round, braided lines, a master cylinder brace AND a complete fluid flush, it should give me a pretty decent braking system....I hope! lol :)

Looking forward to a thread when its all fitted and tested mate :thumbup1:

Whilst I'll be building up the components (powdercoated arms etc, fitting seals and bushes, refurbishing the calipers etc), Jimmer will be doing the hard work and making sure it's all fitted correctly. :)

Friday night I fitted a new battery.

Monday I took it out the garage and washed it.

Today Took it out on the road for the first time in 2 and 1/2 years. In for an MOT and it passed with some advisories for slight corrosion on brake pipes and a slight play in a suspension joint. Other than checking the lights beforehand I didn't do any prep work.

Now it's all taxed and legal again!

I dunno why you bother the only brake you use on your car is the hand brake.

I don't actually use that! I park the car in the garage in gear so as not to stretch the handbrake cable!

Least mine runs....more than can be said for YOURS! :p

Give me till Saturday lol. I was ready to test fire Monday but couldn't find some hose I needed to complete. I'd finish it now but I'm sat in a brewers fayre on the M5, not going home tonight.

I've heard they serve food there. However, I've yet to believe it! :wack:

See you Friday! :)
