  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Few bits turned up from Z1 today. Great service - ordered 23rd. OEM viscous coupling and fan (on offer at great

combo price), cabin air temp sensor, OEM det sensor and Z1 harness and bonnet/support repair kit (cheaper than

buying the hinge covers separately).

Andrew, you need to get a build thread going that we can follow. [emoji41]

I have no idea where Z1 get those fan and coupling combos from but they sell them for peanuts relative to the Nissan prices and all the other sources. When I purchased mine I had to double check that they were actually Nissan parts! There was some speculation that the coupling was being sourced from elsewhere but I have that kit and the quality is OEM in my opinion.

I agree....

….And I bought just the coupling from Z1 a couple of years ago. I could not believe the price, delivered to the UK, either - a veritable bargain....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My birthday present arrived. My aim for next year is to get the ride quality sorted. & new clutch & flywheel.

20181130_162709.jpg

Went down and had the new goodyear F1 asymmetrics fitted all round, decided to go a little wider so now on 275/40/18 rear and 245/35/18 fronts after having a discussion with Funkysi and joelyP and i have to say, these tyres feel far superior to the nankangs!

Havent scrubbed the wax off them yet so grip is a little slippy but the comfort of the ride is so much better.

Gave her the first bath since being repainted and went for a short ride out to take a couple of pictures as the sun was out..

Going to get out and connect the front speakers and crossovers tomorrow morning, then i have my mums car to fix and a couple of people viewing my house in the afternoon so full on day!

Hopefully I'll get some work finished on the Z too.. 20181130_152406.jpg

I also have the F1 asymmetrics on my car and I’m very happy with the all round performance.

Good luck with the viewing. :clover:

Well, I have something Zed-related to post at last.....

I finally collected mine from Dasstech and brought it home safely!! And I enjoyed every minute spent, getting reacquainted with the car on the 150-mile drive back from Leek....

It's taken a while - and there was one little miss-hap when I attempted the same trip two weeks ago - but Zeddy is finally home:clap:

Darren has done a great job; removing old rusty sills, among other bits, welding in new panels, respraying the whole car in lovely fresh TK3 and giving it a proper under-seal. Whilst up there, he also replaced the old, dirty and cracked injector plugs, alternator, battery, front discs and pads; and freed up the sticky rear calipers. Oh, and gave it a service and got the MOT done....

I have to report, the car was running (and stopping) like a dream all the way home. Thanks Darren - great work mate.....:clover:

Tomorrow, I plan to give the interior a thorough clean to remove the last traces of "bodyshop" dust and grime - and, whether permitting, a nice bath with Zymol shampoo...

Great news Richard - keep her away from the nasty winter road salt!

Cheers Andrew - and yes sir, lesson duly learned....

Expecting pictures tomorrow Richard. When do the new wheels go on?

Can do - and I'll probably sort the wheels next weekend. Julia's friend's husband is a mobile tyre fitter, so I'll try and get him round to do it...

Another nice buy, the cover that goes on the top of the door pillar, new genuine nissan, not sure if you can get these any more.

Today nothing - I was at work - but yesterday, quite a lot.....

Gave the interior a thorough clean, to remove the workshop dust etc.

Treated the leather with Gliptone conditioner

Fitted my new Kenwood nav/Bluetooth/DAB head unit

Fitted the new over-mats courtesy of the RAC

Gave the exterior a wash, ready for sealing and waxing next week

And just to prove it did happen - some pictures....

It's good to have the Zed back....

Edit - at least I would - if the fooking pics would upload...…

Pics won't upload....... :-(

Looks like we have another Simon brewing!

Well I am after some red badges for my wheels.

Cheers JP - you beat me to it.....

…..But what the hell - posting them twice is fine with me....

I still have a few minor details to fix - the engine bay is thick with dust and residue of paint polishing. The tail pipes need polishing as they feel rough with the overspray, but they are just little niggles I can sort now it's home:thumbup:

I saw mine for the first time since the NEC today whilst taking my gas and electric meter readings! The CTEK 5.0 was massaging away at the car keeping it ready for action! I was googling some later this evening and randomly stumbled across this:
