  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Took her out today and ate through £20 of ultimate unleaded. Good fun.

Went through the diagnostics for the AC to see why it only blows hot air, long standing fault. It now blows cool air, not cold as I don't have AC as such. Dunno how it fixed it or how long it will last. Anyways.

Picked the wife up from work in the zed who moaned the whole way home about it being bumpy. It's fine on the major roads but the minor roads especially puns the house are absolutely terrible, funny you don't notice how bad till your in something unforgiving.

I took noel from turbonoz advice and started using tesco momentum 99 mate, he said it was the best fuel for the Z and boy was he right. I'd been using she'll V+ nitro until the change and the difference is more than noticeable.. Aswell as the price being nearly 10p a litre cheaper!

Give it a go Stephen..

Not sure myself... I don't trust supermarket fuel. Only Shell Premium for me:)

Tesco is 99ron and good fuel we use it in the Nissan, Jaguar and my brothers Porsche, they all run very nicely and have for years.

Coopd I wasn't sure at first but noel also gave me all the technical information provided by an independent tester.

The data clearly shows that the momentum fuel is a better fuel and noel would know through dyno results and performance results from his own experiences..

Noel uses momentum fuel in his own car so that's good enough for an endorsement for me.

Not to mention the fact that shell premium fuel is what I'd always used in the past in my Z and I noticed a distinct improvement in the way my car runs after switching to tesco momentum..

Why not give it a try and see if you notice the difference?

Don't knock it til you've tried it coopd..

I thought years ago my door glasses were too scratched and i acquired some from a breaker and fit but these were bronze, recently though i've really noticed the difference in colours and when i saw them in the sunshine the other day i concluded they were similarly scratched.

Good job i never threw away the blue as i did think about it, would much rather have badly scratched blue fitted than slightly scratched bronze, my plan is to get these scratches improved somehow when it goes into the shop.

Have you not tested the hobrite yet Andy?

I used it today to get shot of the scratches from my patio door. The dog scratches at it when he wants to come in with his muddy gritty paws and he'd made a right mess of it.

Half hour with a cloth and hobrite and it's like new again..

Give it a try Andy, I'm sure it'll do the job for you.

Test fit the drivers side Bride low max Gias 2 reclining bucket seat... WOW!! I thought it would make a difference, but didnt realise how much.

Maybe it is due to the lack of padding to absorb the G force when accelerating, the car feels like a go cart!! Complete transformation! :D. Rather low though ha ha

How did you go about fitting? And put some pictures up of course!

they are Bride seats and I found some rails via facebook which had just gone for sale (Mondo linked me up). So that has saved a LOAD of hassle or expense importing rails.

It was dark by teh time I finished messing around so photos soon :)

Well, last night at work tonight and the weekend is looking like it's gonna be a busy one. The wife and kid are off on holiday for a fortnight, so plenty of time for giving love to my other lady

Starting with an oil and filter change tomorrow.

My local motor factors just happened to have 2 oil filters on the shelf. Blueprint ones but just as good as oem in my experience. Also got a great deal on some semi synthetic 10W/40 oil.

20 litres! Bulk oil and filters less than £30!

After the oil change I'm planning on getting the steamer out and attacking my engine bay to try and clean some of the grime away.

Then fit a new led sidelight as one of the ichiminge ones failed.

From there, who knows? Maybe fit the silicone vac hoses?

Picking up the venom light panels from the spray shop on Saturday morning, so I'll probably rebuild those with the new light units and maybe get them fitted on Sunday..

The weekends going to be busy but enjoyable!

Forgot to say, Scotland.... Amazing! Breathtakingly stunning scenery and the roads.... Omg the roads were amazing! I wish I'd taken the Z!

A trip to the Highlands with my fairlady is already being planned.. If anyone's interested in a trip up there, maybe we could organise a club event/break??

I'm sure we could get a great rate for a group booking at the Inverness premiere Inn or similar.. Then the Highland roads and Ben nevis are at your feet..

Finished work early today so washed the car, went for a drive (roof off of course) and then snapped a few pics before putting her back in the garage.

Was hoping to get loads done this weekend, but thanks to FedEx being unable to stick to a delivery date, I have no parts...

Thanks to baz for helping out with some intercooler brackets they are now secure (no more cable ties) so could go for a drive, needed a good clean afterwards though...

Lighting!

Think it makes a huge difference lighting up those reflectors

Yeah! Wasn't sure about red on red, but in the dark it's great.

Oil and filter change done yesterday so now as it's grim outside, it's time to do something in the dry..

Just picked up my freshly painted light fittings from Sam at passfield panel and paint this morning who done a fantastic job! Decided to stay gloss black in the end.

So now, the rebuild begins. New light fittings to fit then it's rewiring and maybe if the sun breaks out tomorrow, it'll be time to fit them.. DSC_0195.jpg

Lights fittings in.. New led rings and centre pods, new fixing studs etc.. Now to get the wiring harness sorted and then wait for a dry slot for fitting

Had my wheels re-balanced this morning.....

.....The numpties at National Tyres clearly did a half-arsed job when they fitted my new tyres last month. The car was un-drivable at motorway speeds due to excessive vibration - so determined that I'd not let them near it again, I went to Just Tyres in High Wycombe instead. Sure, it cost me £30 (as opposed to the clowns at National re-doing it for free), but I wanted it done properly! I then took the car for a little blast along the M40 to test it out.

I'm pleased to say that all is well with the Zed once more - so top work; and many thanks to Just Tyres.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Nice! I'll always use small independents! They rely on repeat business so will always try and do a good job.
