water temp

Featured Replies

Now ive gone back to a viscus fan not put sorround on yet what sort of temp should i be looking at?

i dont go over 82 celcius atm...summer comes and ime looking at 85-90 tops

Thanks mate i will keep an eye on things, is it worth putting the fan cover on?

if you have an aftermarket rad then no

The fan shroud is very important as it seperates the plus and negative air pressure to ensure it is been drawn through the radiator rather than around the fan, fitting the shroud can be tricky on the larger rads but can be done.

Cheers Jeff mate, i guess that fitting the cover then will keep it cooler than if without? I've run my zed around tonight the temp is approx 83o c so its running better than the electric fan.

i think i have a nismo thermostat in mine, temps never reach above 73 and with these cold days we have had, when driving into the cold air, the temps drop to 71, if i take it for a rip it can hit 75 but thats about it? not used to that lol I currently do not have a fan shroud on my car, but will agree with jeff, they are better to have and fitted than not.

how can you expect the fan to draw air efficiently at idle through the rad without the shroud to guide it, it will take the path of least resistance which is simply ulling it from all around not through the obstruction of the rad. get it fitted :)

i have an uprated rad and its awkward but the shroud can be fitted...imho a viscous fan is only performing 50% of its pulling power through the rad without the shroud so fitting is a must.

I will fit it this weekend thanks for info guys.

take the 4 boost pipes off...sooooo much easier bud.
