Hey guys picking my new alloys up this weekend will post up some pics once I've got them

Now they are 18x9.5 et30 all round now the rears should fit fine what do you think the fronts will fit like? I had 17x8.5 et30 fitted before and they didn't quite fill the front arches??

Also what size tyres would you go for?

Featured Replies

the off set should be better but only by 1/2" there abouts ..Tyre Profile u be looking at 35>40 Depending on Price of tyres or stretch look to Clear the archs if needed

Cheers guys think they should look good once fitted

I was thinking

235/40/18s up front

255/40/18s on the rear but will have to see

What are standard zed sizes again?

255 on 9.5s is going to give u a good stretch ..

i have 265's on my 9.5s and its little

235/40/18's on 8.5 Fronts

265/35/18's on 9.5 Rear

both have stretch look to them

Uk front / Jap is 225 all around

Uk rear is 255

FM they look crap with that stretch

er i take it you are looking at the 10.5s there have a look at the 9.5 pics

ok look again at the pics there is a 225/40/18 tyre on a 9.5" rim. Dont look at the 10.5s as you aint got 10.5.

The 225 will give you an excellent idea of what 225 looks like on 9.5 rim with 40 profile as all talk is shit unless you can see what it looks like.

Again forget about the 10.5 rims on a 35 profile with stretched look did i make that point?

I can't see any problems with fitting a 225 on a 9.5" wide rim, though the effectiveness of the contact patch between tyre and road may be something to consider and adjust the camber accordingly

It's also worth noting that there will be some minor variation with regards to stretch between diffferent tyre manufacturers

235x40x18 front

265x35x18 or 255x35x18 rear

most common size and im sure cheapest option both will look fine on a 9.5 j

245/45:wink:

ok was going by what was on my uk rears ... 255 ...

yea i know..i cant seem to get 255 anywhere at a decent price even iff there still available ...this 16" malarky is doing my head in

That's the only thing with 16s I found tyre choice isn't that great, plenty for 255 17s though

Bang on mate.... You need to maintain a similar rolling radius front and read - and as the profile is a percentage of the width, with the wider rears you have to drop the aspect ratio (profile) to achieve that. So if you have 235/40 on the front, you need to drop to "35" profile on the rear if you have wider 255 or 265 tyres.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
