Not sure any of the underbody braces do much on a zed as they have a good chaissis from the factory maybe the convertible will be worthwhille to stop scuttle shake .possibly the targa models as well think all them braces is a bit over kill .There ebay ad doesnt say much about what modesl certain braces and bars fit .Looking on the net the rear upper c pillar bar which i quite like to have more for looks than anything else bolts to the rear seatbelt mounts so that must be 2x2 only, there ad doesnt mention this or anything about cutting plastic trim .Im going to message them on ebay to find out .think there based in malasyia .

IMO.......IMO....IMO

A total waste of time and money.

If they were in any way useful. neccessary or desirable they would have been around for the last 15 years. Major companies in Japan and the US would supply them and half the forum cars would have them fitted

Serious racers/drag cars and track cars use roll cages.

The rest of us dont need anything.

Not even worth the effort of sending an email cos the reply will be full of Bsh*it and b**llox

A properly designed strut brace is a useful addition. I was referring to these bits under the car.

which work just as well from experience of fitting them on cars over the years

I know it's not quite the same but I put two of these on my mx5 and it made a hell of a difference. Both under car chassis braces one front one back, stopped the car shuddering like hell if I dropped a back wheel into a pothole. Cornering was hard to say perhaps a bit more eager to turn and responsive cant remember now but certainly less rattly and shuddery.

Cars have a certain amount of flex built into there gerometry and integral strength..start losing this and something else has to give and usually in the form of cracks...plus they look shite:whistling:

LOL...i meant the build quality..looks like 15mm white plastic water pipe

I'm with Pete on this one. I'm all for making the car more rigid but only for the track where you'll find a flatter smoother surface generally where it will perform as intended. If I drive my slickie fast on the road even on softer settings it spends more time in the air than on the road. Clearly a bit of flex is useful on the roads. I was riding my ZX10R at Rockingham a few years ago and decided to ride home with the same suspension settings. 5 miles and two lost fillings later I had to admit defeat having spent most of the time with my ass out of the seat :) I agree that it will make a difference I just don't agree that it will improve handling on the road. All IMO of course lol.

you gonna drag yourself over to the rolling road day being held in bristol, would be great to meet you and see your car, esp seeings as your local to a few of us.

they are a little thin arnt they, the strut braces have got to be better than the *****x ones most people fit that twist at either end.

I doubt if I will have the opportunity. My car isn't close to being ready and the first time attack is 1st April at Cadwell Park. I will need to do some testing before that and we are trying to get some time at Castle Coombe somewhere in March so time is short. I might bring the other car but we shall see how it develops over the next few weeks.

Whats become of Martins car Bob ?

I have swapped out a few parts with the slicktop and have just had it rebuilt. Still a few little niggles and is back having a (hopefully) few last tweaks. Sorted the fuelling out kept the turbos but changed engines and it was running very nice 510 rwhp at only .8 bar so am pretty pleased with it. No-one ever said modified cars were easy did they lol. I've replaced ECU with a series 2 AEM and gonna use it as my weekend car but with the option of spares for the race car. Will be going up to Pete's for a bit of other fettling around April and possibly will get Mark to fit a proper sound system. Still not the finished article but hopefully mechanically anyway next week will see it completed.

Bob is driving about in it when he has a spare moment...which isnt very often.

Kyle Puckett engine going in the slicktop so we can give James a good run for his money in the Time Attack series:smartass:

Weve got some aces up our sleeve Pete this season, engine and drivetrain mods that should prove worthy. The car Bob bought has a great engine though.Kyle said it was good for 1200hp on nitrous for a year and was willing to give warranty on that !! It spools up really well and has loads of torque.

Ah just seen this Bob,must go back through previous rather than last posts,I never painted the sump, dont shoot me for that pmsl. Its a very good engine thats needing better turbos and bigger pipework, had so much potential imho.Im glad your enjoying it.You ditched the Emerald then ?

Yes Pete's getting the Emerald I wanted to carry similar spec so I can nick the odd parts if needed :) Yes have rebuilt my TD05's and refreshed the racing wastegates so am expecting some decent numbers. The engine built by Dan has proved itself too but I am hoping this package will reach another level but we shall see. I never even looked at the sump and replaced with my baffled sump on the slicktop :) Will we see you and James at Cadwell?
