Dave Naxton is offering a special group purchase price, and has this to say:

Hi Noel - It would be great to have the 300ZX club on board.

I believe Bobgenie is looking to compete again. I doubt very much my Zed will be as quick over the 1/4 as my MR2, but it's a highly-strung beast so it may pop at an inopportune moment. I didn't enter last year as part of a club (I was running the only Pulsar there!), and I haven't heard anything about an IMOC presence there this year, so I'll be more than glad to help with any organising if required :)

For those that haven't been before, it's a great day out! Even better if you come for the weekend.... Plus, those without a £100k to plough into their motors need all hands on deck when the inevitable happens

Couldn't have been the Vulcan

Yes it is/was.

Its XH558 the ONLY flying one and it was on its way home from Sunderland Airshow to its home near Doncaster.

Info from a very nice man at the Yorkshire Air Museum next door!!:cool2:

Just Google Vulcan XH558 for lots of info etc

My dad he thought it was a Vulcan but I think it was valiant

Dad right again.....:tt2::tt2::tt2::tt2::wink::wink::wink::lol::lol::lol:

No Valiant's left flying anymore mate. They all suffered from metal fatigue in the wing structures, so were withdrawn from service early. Only the Victors and Vulcan's were left in the the V force.

Some pics I took. Not great as most of them from in the car. Sure my mate has some so ill get what I can.

1st pic is my first ever £100 fill up, and it got me from preston, to the event, ran all day then home again. happy days.

Someone say they were putting vids on youtube? Cant wait for that.

cheers

I got offered a similar SWB Quattro in flint grey metallic for £4300 about 10 years ago, I thought it was overpriced then........OOOHHHHH how I wish I had bought it now

I wonder if it had got from Sunderland to TOTB as quick as me lol

Membership No 0780

INSURANCE GOOFA

Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

The cone run looks like it's hard to navigate, how is it when your actually driving? Looks like alot of fun

Mate them vids are amazing. Don't suppose you,ve got a vid of me on the handling circuit were I don't nearly nail a cone on that bad bend. lol.

I thought it was going to be harder to navigate, but once your on the track it was easy to follow. Thought that middle bend was the hardest part. Understeer was hard to stop.

Driver error im sure. Made me want to do an airfield trackday. Learn a lot on the edge of control without the fear of hitting a wall.

Cheers for the vids paul. Theyre mega.

Danny

Have you got a link mate? Im a bit sad but I like to gather every pic and vid of my car in action. 1 day it will be sold forever and I want to look back at it all. See dates are released for totb 2014. Should have enough time to get team sorted for then.

Cheers

Danny

Dan that's the only full lap I have of you. I can burn them all to disc if you want them?

Here are some times and results. Still no points released which is strange since they seem to know on the day ........ I will post the points table if/when I see it but it's always good to try your hand at all three disciplines so well done to the zed community the boys done good :)

Its fine thanks mate. Ive got the links etc saved for youtube so that'll do me fine. Great vids there though. Thanks for that.

Did I see somewere that it ends up on eurosport? Anyone know when its on. And do they do a final results list, or just top 10? Realise that's a stupid question as its 10 of the best but would just like to know were I stand on the grand scheme of things.

Cheers

I always thought that each class had it's own 'top ten' and that's how I planned my day but that's not the case weirdly. Only the top ten in each discipline get points regardless of class. Of course you can see how you do within each class but this is for info only and not for points. It kind of makes it a 4x4 event almost but it's up to the rest of us to catch up I guess :)

I set out to win the RWD class and knew that the 1/4 would be my weakest discipline so put most of my effort into that. I thought topspeed was a banker (wrongly as it happens lol) and that the handling would also be a top three. My intention was to try and knock out a sub 12 second 1/4, then hit the handling course and get into the shootout and then finally just do a single topspeed and see where I was. I changed settings a few times and it was quite hard to get the time I wanted on the quarter but finally got it right. Off to the handling course only to find I was poodling round due to a few dodgy spark plugs so that first run was wasted. I managed a decent time on my fourth run and decided not to bother with the fifth and have a go at topspeed where I struggled badly. I was hitting 150 mph with about 350 metres to go but the engine wasn't having any of it so called it a day rather than kill something. They decided to run the handling eliminator an hour early so I was lucky to have the car ready and on my second run managed to score a third place so was pretty pleased with that considering I'd only done the course a few times. My slow topspeed was still Ok for third place too as a few of the top cars either didn't run it or fizzled out. Fifth in the quarter just missing the shootout but if they were awarding points for all classes as I thought then I would have won the RWD class on points with 26 which included 4 points for scoring in all three :) There were clearly some very good RWD cars there the Lotus was going great but died on the topspeed run and I think the Talbot Cosworth ended up damaged somehow. The two Dax Rushes didn't do the topspeed so 300zx did the job. Now I know classes aren't scored next year I will do things a little different but doubt I can compete with some of the 4x4 which are in a different league. I managed a 48.75 on the handling and a few more practice runs could see a couple of seconds dropped so next year all being well I might just try to get a place there rather then try to get a place in all three. We live and learn :)

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the event. I think it's the perfect competition for modified cars and the opportunity to see just how good our cars are as an all rounder. We will never compete with the big boys as their funding is through the roof but we can try and nip their ankles. See you next year and if you come on the Saturday and I'm not driving I might be more sociable lol.

Now that is worth going to see:lol::lol::lol:

Anybody get a decent pic of the delta wing plane that came over?

Just checked the camera as Martyna took a few pix and here's one of the Vulcan. Not the best but .........

I also found some pix from last years TOTB as we hadn't used this camera since then!!
