Hi Noel - It would be great to have the 300ZX club on board.

I believe Bobgenie is looking to compete again. I doubt very much my Zed will be as quick over the 1/4 as my MR2, but it's a highly-strung beast so it may pop at an inopportune moment. I didn't enter last year as part of a club (I was running the only Pulsar there!), and I haven't heard anything about an IMOC presence there this year, so I'll be more than glad to help with any organising if required :)

For those that haven't been before, it's a great day out! Even better if you come for the weekend.... Plus, those without a £100k to plough into their motors need all hands on deck when the inevitable happens

Hi Noz,

If you're looking to build a team you can include me as I'll be going unless there's a clash with summer holiday (kids ehh!)

I'll be there aswel. Z aswel if it's still on the road by then. May even enter for a laugh.

Danny.

Bobgenie wants to get a team going .

So between us we need to get this up and running.

Looks like some PMs needed to get this off the ground.

A Zed running decent power and a low 12s will do well in the RWD class based on last year's times. There weren't any Supras competing from what I can remember...

Would be good for the marque & the club to have a stand if at all possible, start clawing back some well-needed kudos. And resale values :whistling:

Yeah, he mentioned it to me in a PM a while ago, although I'm most likely going to be running the MR2 and looking after another vehicle. However, my heart lies with the Zed and I would love to see some big power Zeds there (there's a Show 'n' Shine competition as well, which may be of interest to a few). If I can enter as a trader and part of the 300zx club with an MR2, that would be ideal, else I'll enter privately and try & park close by with lots of "Turbonoz" stickers

wasn't it in portsmount last year or something? its in York now though :( that's the opposite end of the country.

Nope!

ALWAYS based at Elvington right from the first event.

I would happily help with a team effort. I'm not that great with mechanical stuff as still learning but I can work a kettle like a pro

Brilliant, the more the merrier!

  • 1 month later...

Any movement on this here team idea then? We thinking a team supporting bobgenie, or an actual team of Z,s entering? Stand better chances with more cars entering, higher chances of at least 1 surviving the event.

Im happy to enter or suppor in any way i can. So do we need a show of hands of who fancies entering and who just wants to help out.

Not great at organising these kind of things but needs doing as itll soon be upon us.

Cheers

Danny

I was hoping to get to Pod last weekend to set some times in the Zed, but was stuck up in the north of England.

We've got the making of a strong team over on IMOC, and giving the power:weight ratio of my MR2, will definitely be running that car. May run the Zed as well, though :D

A team of 5 zeds is the way to go. I'm going and Slick Pete makes 2 :) I'm not up for organising just don't have the time but I'll be running if my car is still alive lol

I'll enter my Zed as well as the MR2 I think.

Well I've never entered before so don't know the full format. Imagine you get there Friday night, camp on site etc. Then practice and qualifying Saturday and main event Sunday. So it'll be a case of seeing who wants to go up on the Friday. And we can set up a bit of a pit area. I'll look into it all this week. Been a long term dream competing in Totb in my Z.

Can't wait.

Could do with an events organiser to help out if poss. Someone who knows what they're doing.

Cheers.

Yes you can camp Friday night usually just check with the organiser but I did couple years ago. I can provide support to all on the day eg large awning, compressor etc. Pretty sure Pete will help organise if we ask him nicely :-) I'm off to Cadwell Park in a bit hoping the weather holds :-)

Well I have been with Bob for the past two years.

I know the layout of the place and the format of the event.

so I can oversee the whole effort if required.

I can help with organizing and help individuals with event tips etc for anyone who isnt 100% sure.

Its quite a relaxed weekend and nobody should feel intimidated by it. Its one of the last true "clubman" events although there are a handful of "pro" cars/teams too.

Its not 100% given that I will compete but I will 100% be there.

Dont think.... Just do it.

as Bob says we need a team to do well individually.

It doesnt matter if more then 5 Zeds enter it just means we can have a choice for the final team..

i might be in for this and enter zoe :-)

Great idea!

JFDI!!!

Haha, I'll be competing again 100%, just needs a bit of planning on my part if I'm to enter 2 cars.

To anyone thinking of running in this year's TOTB, I will offer pre-event shakedowns on the dyno at a very competitive rate. P.O.A as it depends upon the individual's requirements. Special dispensation to those running TURBONOZ decals

At the event I will be on hand for full datalogging of stock ECUs including AFRs. Bear in mind that I will likely be very busy with my MR2 P.O.S.

I should also be able to supply RACE FUEL at a very reasonable rate.

I could possibly come along in the pulsar prob not compete but could help on the mechanic side of things if need be?

You have just been booked!!!

Bring yer overalls:thumbup1: We have the tools etc

Ear plugs might be useful too if Bob gets "grumpy":innocent:
