Hi guys, is there anything on the outside of the lights that tell me if it's for a left or right hand drive car? A set of each of mine have got mixed up and having a mare with my car so can't connect one to the battery.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

The projector lenses are on the outside of the lamp, so if its on the left hand side then that's the left hand light and vice verse.

Lol,

i think he means the Differance between left hand drive and right hand drive!

in the us the lamp is offset to point inwards on the drivers side.

aah, was wondering why he couldn't work it out..lol. Ain't got a clue then...

Below is an average UK beam for right hand drive, its angled to the left to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

The left hand drive would be the reverse of this.

That pic looks like a lhd light or is it ment to be, just writing says below is average uk beam.

And pic car is on the right with lights angled right or have I read it wrong lol...

OK, fair enough, the site I got it from was actually wrong and I understood it wrong too !:mad2:

I think the sight I got it from got right hand drive mixed up with right hand traffic

Here's a Wikipedia link showing it the correct way.:whistling:

I understand the difference between the light patterns, I just read his post wrongly...lol

I just looked at the parts catalogue and found this…

So you should be able to find those numbers on the lights

Having been sent a set of USDM headlights that differ greatly from our JDM or UK's.....they have 3 nipples on the lens for a start which as far as i am aware serve no purpose, the adjustments is bizzare, it seems the whole unit moves up and down as opposed to individual housing ones and boy they're heavy contraptions !!

One thing that is the same is the projector which leads me on to why i am posting.

I need to migrate over the LHD shield out of the USA units and into a JDM set of headlights.

Therefore this pic shows them, the USA one hence driving on the right, is the shinier one on the right, the same shape shield is fitted both sides.

The shield adjusts, i find these in the middle of their travel so this is where i put them. I have tried a little rig up with a standard H3C bulb and in positions nearer and then further away from the bulb and didn't notice any difference against the inside of my garage door.

The nipples are for the headlight aiming tool:
