The bellhousing fitment is the same but the starter is different the na has a lump and this must be filed and the started spaced to realigbn with the flywheel. So ideally you should swap the bellhousings over because I supposed you cant shim it in. however you could I guess use a tt flywheel and clutch with the na engine and tt box. Not sure. As I say really you need a tt bell housing to make life easier. Why cant you go tt

hi m8 it comes down to time and cost I don't want to buy a tt as iv spent a lot on the car with chrome and a full leather and sued inter and theres no rust on the car at all and its just had a full wax oil under the car as I live on the east coast my auto ok but iv got it in my head that I want a man I went to see andy300zx and he got a man box out of a tt so im looking to take that

TT box on a NA car is really easy .. just make sure you have all the TT flywheel and clutch and first half of the Propshaft and clutch booster

other than that there is no need to grind out the bell housing or shim the starter motor ..

you only have to do that when using a NA manual box on a TT car ( other way to you )

nice one so if I put a new flywheel and clutch on as the gearbox is off do I put a tt or n/a one on or don't it matter

You can go from N/A Auto to TT manual with out the need to change anything if the kit comes with the correct items, TT fly, TT clutch, TT gearbox, TT rear prop, the starter motors are the same.

Thought I might help out here. I had an Exedy twin plate TT clutch and flywheel on my NA engine with a NA box. I didn't have a clutch booster and vacuum and and neither did I need one. It wasn't overly difficult to depress the clutch pedal it's just a case of people reading stuff and believing that you need the strength of 10 men to press the clutch pedal. Not the case I speak from experience.

Up to you if you want to try I without a vacuum booster tank as it will be near on impossible to get hold of one when its part if a manual conversion kit and would be sold as so.

when i first did my auto to manual conversion on my blue zed, i didn't plumb in the vac line to the clutch booster to start with. as much as you can drive the car without it, id recommend if you have a clutch booster, to use it. the difference is very very noticeable and makes driving much less painful, especially when sitting at traffic lights with the clutch pedal pressed.

I had a RPS street max clutch.

Ok well I'd recommend that mine was more than bearable in traffic jams as well. Maybe because it was a better clutch than the RPS that it wasn't noticeable on mine at all. Rather than shell out what maybe 300 plus for a manual conversion kit for a part that may not be needed. I don't have one for sale though just give advise.

so wood I need to change the looms at all and gearbox ecu I think the man don't have 1 or am I way off

has mikey bean still got his gearbox for sale anyone know

If yer getting your box of Andy, just get a TT flywheel as well which he's bound to have and then a new TT clutch unless a very good second hand one comes up for sale, job done!

If Andy also has a clutch booster which he'd sell cheapish, buy it and fit it that too, sure he'd discount for a few parts.

Also Zedworld have quite large stocks of second hand parts, give them a bell to see what they have.

Mine was awful without servo assist, ruined the car. Its rayed at 500ftlb iirc, hooked the vac up.soooo much better. Gaz has some twin plate plate thingof a simular spec we will be fitting to his which is supposed to be lighter than stock.

What I meant earlier if it was confusing is use the tt flywheel and vlutch and il be fine. The na one is smaller hence the problem if your going the other eay or intend to try and ise the na flywheel.

Ecu stays, you just have to do a small amount of wiring to trick the car into starting, disabling the starter rely that stops you starting in gear on tbr auto. Its the easy bit. And the neutral switch.

The booster makes it much easier to control the clutch, but as gonzo says, you'll find it very hard to source a s/h one due to them being sold as part of the conversion kit. New ones are extremely expensive as well.

You need to change the spigot bush in the rear of the crank too, the auto is different from manual, only a few quid to buy.
