Well a few months ago I sold the zed to buy something more practical unfortunately ( for the bank balance) I stumbled across the rs6 which seemed to tick all the boxes, fast, reliable, awd, practical and comfortable so I took the plunge a few weeks ago and having only owned jap cars since the tender age of 16 I'm quite impressed by the big german brute.

It's no zed it doesn't have the ability to turn heads like the zed, it doesn't have the sexy curb appeal of the zed did and the bills for repairs on the big 6 are frightening (£1000 just for a set of brake disc's, you could buy a tatty zed for that!!!) but hey you only live once.

Anyway I hope I don't get to much stick for going over to the dub side but here's some piccys it does need a wash but it's been raining for a fortnight so I haven't bothered lolIMG_00000078.jpg

Good choice, just scary if (when) they go wrong like you quite rightly said - expensive to repair! I have considered German many times in the past but even with my contacts in the motor trade massive costs of fixing older over-engineered vehicles like this scare me away. Jealous though! Enjoy it!

Nice choice. Sound awesome and go like the clappers. People that know cars will know what it is and appreciate it. I like German cars and they're excellent at what they do but can lack soul and character sometime.

Enjoy the new beast tho

i have the audi A6 2.4 v6 love it to bits its just ticks the boxes.i still have my Z and ive a 200 sx s15. and my bike zx12r ninja. just love my toys aswel lol. nice csr you have though.

Sold my 2.7 Quattro a few months ago now it was a great car to drive but no where near the performance of an RS6.

I was actually looking at your car when it was for sale and it was one of the things that got me looking into the 6 I think I may have even asked you some questions about it lol

Sir charles,

Tell me about it, I never even considered german I was looking at foresters and the skyline estates but the interiors aren't great, to be honest the costs are a bit outlandish but to be fair the last time my zed went in for a cambelt change the bill came to £1700 because of all the broken bits found along the way lol

Sambo,

I know what you mean in the zed did have a charisma about it and to the untrained eye the 6 just looks like any other german rep mobile but hey at least the thieves won't be after it lol

I'd loved to have kept the zed aswell I'd have most probably bought a derv audi estate but I just don't have the room and I think she'd have had my guts for garters lol

Ahhh a bike man my mates dad's just bought a new ducatti it looks amazing and goes like hell!!! He actually bought it from brands hatch its been on display in the kentagon for the last few years so it's mint

My mate has one, and while he was swapping over the back boxes for some uprated stuff, he decided to have a wee go wi the boxes off ! V8`s, love that sound !

Alan........

Like you say you only live once so yes go for it. The Audi RS range are fantastic cars to drive and thanks for the pics:thumbup1:

I agree.......

......enjoy your new car mate; and there's nothing wrong with going German!! I have a fast, lithe German mistress as a daily drive - and with the exception of the 300zx Z32, the NSX and now the R35 GTR I would always have something fast and interesting from Audi/BMW/Merc over anything Japanese TBH....!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It really is i had to drive it back from huddersfield when i bought it and it breezed it even managing an average of 30mpg on the way home lol

Very nice mate! Plain jane remap on these and you'll see 530hp+ with some very nice torque :turned: .. Come over on Audisrs.com, everything you could possibly learn about these cars are on there

i may well look at a remap at some point as theres a few knocking about with simple mods pushing up to 570bhp and 700nm-800nm of torque!! although im not sure how long the gearbox will last with that much torque, ill have a look im on rs246 at the moment but its nowere near as good as here people seem to spend longer correcting your spelling than actually answering your questions lol

Its easily achievable on the RS6's to hit crazy numbers both HP and Torque, thing is they are bullit proof and can take it without much effort - Engine and gearbox. People like MRC tuning know what the limits are and will remap accordingly to your current mods so nothing is over stressed.

RS246 is one forum that i've never really set eyes on, Ive been on there once and hated the whole layout of it so didn't bother. But I agree, forums like this and others such as the GTROC and MKIVsupra seem to be more laid back when it comes to modding their cars and not so judgemental, that's why I can't keep away from here even though the Z got sold years ago! I think most are up their own arse alot of the time and don't even realise it but anyway......

I reckon give it a year or two and I may be back in a Z or similar, GTR possibly as I can't see the logic in spending 4 figure sums everytime my car needs a service and some work doing to it!

yea to be fair it is silly money if anything major goes pop but its got a years extendable warrenty on it so repairs shouldnt be too painfull in fact 3 months in i just took it down to QST and guess what?? drc is weaping and 2 knackered bushes grand total £1400 plus vat.... £500 on a warrenty wasnt such a bad idea lol,

I was looking at a gtr or an evo but they just dont have the practicality or the comfort of the 6 although a well tuned gtr is a weapon on the road and will leave mine in the dust!!
