Hi guys the zed will be going away in the new year for the finishing touches like sills and targa drains sorted also having bodykit fitted and a respray.....my question is this.......

This is going to be the only time I'll be able to afford a respray so want it right, I really like my car in silver but think the actual colour looks dated, just wondering if anyone has any ideas how I can make it stunning, I don't want pearl or flip or any of that crap, and just having a basic respray not having the car stripped, was toying with the idea of a silver satin or matt finish rather than gloss?? The car is only going to be used very rarely and always dry stored....any ideas or would be greatly received cheers

I had mine painted merc artic white and having it painted again soon and going with the same.

White is great, it's cheap paint and not a fancy colour but really stands out when polished and I can just wash it and leather it and still gleams u don't see the swirls and stuff u get with dark cars.

And white seems to hide a lot, like if it ain't blocked straight u can get ripples down the sides on say a black car would stick out like a sore thump.

White will hide it a bit so don't have to pay thousands out having it painted like a show car, not saying to not have it done right but I've had mine painted few times and they allways seem to miss something, but then I ain't paying thousands on a paint job.

White is really in at the mo and suits anything sporty... Just make sure it's proper white white (rather than 'off white')

Or maybe a nice bright silver as will be easy to paint over whatcha already got. Ford Moondust silver is a nice bright choice.

Think I'll stay silver dont want different colour under bonnet ECT lol, but want a silver that will really stand out don't want it to just look like another silver car if you get me.....its not going to be plain as got plans for once its sprayed hehe.....

Colour code 490 frozen silver is all I can find for the minute I'll keep looking lol

Sorry it's frozen silver but can't find colour code the code 490 is bmw frozen silver metallic,

I think but it's a bmw colour so a car paint shop should easily find and supply it...

That BM silver does look the nuts. Looking forward to seeing the finished pics mate :thumbup1:

Mine comes back from the spray shop at the end of the week and funnily enough it will be 'Audi' White as used on the R8 etc with a few bits in black to set it off

OK so it's not silver but I'll be uploading the pics anyways

Anyone who has read my journal will know the car was originally graphite grey and see it has been stripped down and sprayed then put back together again rather than just sprayed over
