There are many insurance threads on here, but your age is the downfall in price with any company i would imagine, for classic cover you need to be 25. And there is no such thing as cheap insurance lol, its all a rip off.

Footman James, Lynbrook to name a couple.

I thought Lynbrook and Footman did mainly classic ….

Who did you try?

Post up your exact requirements and someone may have similar and can say what they pay to who.

It’s obviously not a stock car as far as body goes…

But 3800 is a rip off !!! have you tried insuring though a parent with you as a driver?

You could do classic then… particularly since it’s only unused for 3000 miles pa

Do it the other way round - get the policy in your name and add a parent as a named driver. That way, it doesnt look like the parent is trying to "front" the policy so the younger driver can build up a no claims.

I'm 23 - I'm with Admiral on a multicar policy, pay around £950 for a year for my TT zed (1k per year) and my diesel Renault (10k per year)...

Unfortunately with any DR conviction on your license, you are going to get hammered for a long time no matter what car you drive, add to that the power and engine size of a 300zx and expect to pay lots for a while.

just to make you sick im only a few year older than you at 26 without a dr conviction my zed costs me 150 a year thst right a year. silly boy for the dr, anyways try sky they were quite competitive for me at that age, do you have any previous experience with high power cars? as that will help, if youve gone for a a little 150bhp car to this they will class you as high risk aswel.

im 24 no ncb £950 bonus accelorator on autotrader comparison site, link on main website mate, do it

Im 57 years old and last year i was asked to pay 1900 got it down to 1000 with the same company with 5 years no claim. before the insurance comes up this year im selling the car . Its now up for sale on eBay i will not keep being ripped of by insurance company's any more

Unless your liecense is littered with points or your claimed 100 times I fail to see how thats the cheapest you got

i'm with lynbrooks Pay £290 year 5 years ncb age 35 have 3 points( reckless driving "drifting" ) 8000miles year full cover

this is with adrain flux no point s never had any in my life all i can say i live in London. don't want to sell the car but have too not paying rip off price to have a car sitting outside my house and only drive it once a week

Probably due to the fact that Adrian Flux are on crack cocaine when it comes to prices, dump them and go with a decent company like Footman James

I have 2 TT's and a ford Mondeo and all 3 are insured through Adrian Flux. This isn't defending them as an insurance company but I pay £160 for one Z (limited miles of 5000), the other Z is £210 at 10,000 limited miles and £380 for the mondeo. I have 10 years no claim bonus at the age of 38.

Most insurance companies are similar with their quotes IMO, most of the comparison sites use the same data base, but you need to speak to them on the phone and haggle (don't ask don't get). Obviously if you are seeking a low price with heavy convictions and points splattered over your lisence you are not going to get a low price no matter how hard you search.

heh yea, try to insure Your car when You are polish... My first quote - £8459 year , im 33 years old, driving licence for 7 years, no accidents etc.

Cheapest quote i got is £4600.

For me its a fuc#ing joke.

For a £4600 i can insure my car for a 15(!) years in poland!

or do what what they do were i live insure in Poland drive over here then no car tax to pay. plus i have try ed insurance with footman would not even insure me. and as i said no point no claims. so i got a 1986 mini and got insurance for 180 pound. so will drive that good by Z :(

Hey Draxan,

mate, that is nasty.... did you try to find out a way to reduce it? can't you do a UK advanced driving course or something like that?

Sadly Stu is right - a DR endorsement stays on your licence for 10 years from date of conviction.......

....And as for recommendations, Footman James' prices have shot up this year. I asked them for a quote (Lynbrooks renewal came in at about £290) and FJ wanted over £400 for their classic policy this time round....!!

I found a company called Lancaster - I have the same Equity Red Star classic policy I had with Lynbrooks; 5000 miles p/a and agreed value, breakdown cover etc - but they did it for £260 including the £15 valuation fee.

Richard:thumbup1:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

apparently footman only insure cars over 20 years old :( and wont insure mine as its only 17 years old

chaucer have apparently decided not to insure me anymore , apparently to high a risk because its an import, if there was a risk of it making it onto the road for more than 2 days a year they might have a point

so my premium will be going up from £250 ish to £1200 ish each

Zeds for sale, buy one get one free
