I cut the pipe on the egr pipe to get the nut off and had the hole welded, screw straight into manifold, job done.

Yeah I can do that the threaded nut thats on the hard line is dead. The manifold thread thankfully is fine.

People talk about welding a penny over it or similar, I acquired a blanking kit from somewhere, which just bolted a plate over it.

I cant see how that works on a cast manifold and something made nostly of copper :s

IIRC the penny is welded to the inside of the nut from the EGR pipe and not to the stainless manifold itself.

Post a wanted thread up for an old EGR nut, im sure there are plenty around lol

I have an EGR delete kit fom Z1 for sale if your interested .....

Could you pm z32bolt with the price please fella

Yep, that's what I meant ! ;)

Im sure Luke at Zcentre has delete kits for cheap. I just got some EGR plenum blanks off him and he asked if I needed a blanking nut as well

U can use penny's on them all lol.

Even under plenum. Just cut pipes off the little flange type things that bolt to bottom of plenum then put a coin on it with some instant gasket do the two 10mm blots back up.

I done this both sides on plenum, the one that goes in the manifold I broke the pipe flush with the bolt that goes in manifold so I could get a socket on it cause there often bloody tight.

Took bolt out dropped coin in the hole there's flange in there then put bolt back in and tighten it up.

cheers for the replys guys but as ive said ive binned the whole egr thing solenoids hard lines the lot, so i need the corrected sized bung for the manifold, i was going to fabricate some nice blanking plates for the plenum. but if someone has a modestly priced egr delete kit thats better for me as it saves tinme does the job properly etc. however if needs be i can always get hold of an egr assembly and do what everyone else has done.

95 cars had a blank as standard,i have some plenum blanks made from alloy Steve if you want some ?

and they do the job very well, I can vouch for that :thumbup1:

That would be awesome jimmer, do you have the blank for the manifold aswel?

Go to a half decent plumbing shop, you can get a cast iron one with the right thread for pence mate, that's what I did, bang on. Think they are used for blanking the ends of some radiators.

I would use a carrot. There tapered so you can push it in to the diamiter required and snap it off. or leave it as is as a interesting feature. thats what Baz did

Errrrrm not sure Gaz. It might taste a bit funny ??

Peas in the radiator dont taste very nice
