Cant seem to get people interested in what I thought would be A really quick sale of a nice zed!

I'm wondering wether it's worth selling the coil overs brakes and wheels and returning it to stock to subsequently ask a lower price. Ironically I can imagine most owners would then re fit the mods but you can't win in this case!

What do we think?

Do you have all the stock items already? If so it may be worthwhile as the mods don't attract much of a premium and you should be able to sell them on easily enough. If you have to source the stock parts though I wouldn't bother.

It's a buyers market still and knocking on for Christmas (which of course means snow time) so it's quite possible that £3500-£4000 may be the maximum that someone considering buying a SWB TT zed is willing to pay right now

Well tbh I've modded cars ever since I've been driving but ive always looked for the bog standard cars as you know there less likely to have been abused I'd put it back to stock, lower the price and sell the bits

put a sheet over it and put it in axle stands and store it over winter.....sell it in the spring or keep it for next year for when you get that Itch again Chris

steve

only thing you should mod on a 300 is wheels and exhaust i think the japs got it bang on the day ,but having said that back in my early days i modded everything so it is a personal thing

Wise words.

Hardly anything is selling for good money.

If there is no interest at the price you are asking then sadly there is only one conclusion to draw.

You are clever enough yourself to know what that conclusion is without me telling you.

Cheers Pete, I think it's the time of year more than anything. I think I'll leave it as is for now and continue to try and sell and see if it gets any better after Xmas.

Ive dropped the price anyway so I'll see how it fairs at that!

I agree that the Japs got it bang on, unfortunately 'the day' was knocking on for 25 years ago

Yup - I agree also....

Shelling out for stock parts, plus the labour (or your time) to fit them will negate any real gain you might make on the sale of the aftermarket parts. And like it's also been said above, chances are the next owner will probably look to upgrade them to your current spec in time - expecially is the stock parts re-fitted are showing signs of wear. Which if we're honest is very likely.....

They did - even 20 years on the Z32 is still a better car than most of its successors and their contemporaries; and does indeed only need bigger wheels and exhausts to update it. Oh and clear side repeaters with 99-spec rear lights of course!!!

But nonetheless it can still be improved - like replacing tired suspension with new coilovers and poly bushes etc.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I tried selling my swb slicktop manual tt a few years ago, mind you its not in mint condition could do with a respray ,with loads of aftermarket bits tein coilovers exhaust intercooler etc and only got offerS of around 2k and loads of swaps so decided to keep it .

Interestingly I just bought a set of standard rims today for my mr2 that I need to write an ad for :thumbup1:

That's what I was worried about. I had offers of more but still feel its worth 4500

What would you sell it for with all the toys removed?

I don't know really, assuming 500 each for brakes wheels and suspension id be expecting 3k for a 95 slicktop tt manual!

If your getting an advert written should I be expecting a phone call ;-). Iv some spares as well if it's you to help out a fellow (ex) slicktop owner! :-)

I would leave it as it is, I've got a car for sell at the moment and I think it's perfectly priced but simply isn't selling... Lots of interest but no commitment. I'm sure it's only the time of year so sit on it if you can...
