Gearbox heatshield

Mine's missing, do you guys recommend having one or is it considered unnecessary?

Well i never had one on my blue zed, never noticed anything, i think its more for warmer climates to stop the heat filtering into the cabin from the exhaust, but dont quote me on that.

what heat heat shield the only one i seen on the car is the one that sits under the prop about where the cats are

Yeah sorry my mistake, it's the exhaust heatshield in the transmission tunnel. I came across them on the Z1 website but mine didn't have one so was curious as to whether it was normal or not

They are fitted to stock cars, most of the times the studs that the bolts bolt onto to fit it to the car can rust and snap when that happens most people leave it off, but it is actually for keeping the temps down in the cabin, ever had that warm feeling near the gear stick yet no air flowing though the vent? Lol
