Been looking at these for a bit and almost decided to change my plans from fitting a FMIC to fitting a pair of these even though i love the look of a FMIC on a zed. Has anyone brought a set of these on here ?

I was looking at those until I came across a decently priced FMIC. When I've got the funds to do it, will be going the front mount option as its cheaper too.

Seem pretty good to me.

 

If your looking to make decent power, Its been suggested to me that you want a big FMIC.

This is the one i was going to buy next month but after getting another front bumper im not sure if its going to fit. The problem i have is the new bumper has a built in stone guard and im not sure if the FMIC will clear it or not.

Nit a fan of front mount the designers worked hard to put in smics for a reason. Slick pete has some huge and cheap smic atm

You wont need a front mout until your making over 600 horses running mahoosive turbos. Up to that point, side mounts are a much more efficient design!

 

And to be honest, 2fast2cool stuff is cheap. its cheap for a reason, equally why well designed front mounts from GReddy, HKS etc etc etc cost a pretty penny.

 

Infact i would put a significant amount of money on the fact that a set of decent side mounts would easily out perform an ebay front mount

yeh i know what you mean thats why im opening up the slots they seem ingratiating to my mind. the 99spec front has larger holes which is gonna help, as do most aftermarkets.

yes and infact one or two ebay front mounts have been exposed as less efficient than the stock smic!

the thing that puts me off front mounts is the fact your not only further restricting air flow you also are passing warmer air than normal over the radiator and oil cooler.

The FMIC (not 2fast2cool) I linked to(£189), just been going through the sellers other items and they have the exact same item also listed at £589?????? Why would they have the same item up for two different prices??

Custom ducting might be the answer to using larger SMIC.

I have a set of Greddy SMIC I was going to fit Martin, but you can have them for a million quid if ya like?

I planned to fit them one day lol! The Greddy SMIC didn't come out too well in tests as they are not massively tall like the others, but they were proven to be one of the best with an oem tt bumper fitted. There is a thread somewhere comparing performance of the SMIC available.

yes mate that's an important point to consider. :)

be interesting to take some temp measurements before and after fitting if you do use those :)

i thought that too but its not quite so favourable after import tax etc so im told by those in the know. i have imported from the states years ago but it seems things arnt so good these days.
