You pretty much have the optimum tyre sizes there already mate.....

.....although dependent on the width of your rear rims, you could still go 275/35/18 with no problems. Ride and handling will not be affected; but your wallet might when you come to buy rear tyres if you go too wide!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As Richard said, rears already ideal size. Falken 452 are a pretty standard choice, but i found they didnt last as long as the Nexen im using now.

Nexen have really come on since the budget tyres they used to make, but slightly cheaper than Falken and last twice as long. Of course everyones opinion differs when it comes to tyres, but it really depends on your budget and how you are going to drive the car.

I use falken befor really good shoes .... Gone for maxxis this time ... Way better than falken and little cheaper

im not a mad man but that said if i use the car and it will be used then i do want them to hold there own and i also dont want to seat at traffic lights spinning and not getting anyware, also i dont mess in the wet to much but will play on a dry day.

Wider tyres front or rear will change the steering feel somewhat, moreso changing the fronts

Larger profile tyres will give some sidewall movement, and it becomes more noticeable with stiffened suspension - you do need some movement though

somewhere on here i see someones got 285s at the rear will they fit a standard set up on man tt lwb uk

Whether they will fit depends on the width and offset of the wheels mate! 285mm wide is 8/10 of an inch wider than you have already and 1.6 inches wider than stock.....

.....so you might have fouling or clearance issues; or they will sit outside of the wheel arches (which IIRC isn't legal)....!

For a totally different purpose than intended on this thread, but I must agree on the quality of Nexen tyres !

Over a year now, wet or dry and a wee amount of tyre smoke on start up ? (ahem)
