That's just class, what can I say...LOL!

I'm finding that most amusing, coz living in De Wales...ayyy! I am surrounded with f**kin' Champagne Vauxhall Nova's every weekend.

Bless 'em, they don't know any better, I heard some woman in the bank the other day. She was prattling on about her son has just passed his test, and has just gone out and bought a standard 1.2 Nova Merit. He's 17 from what I could gather, quote was 2,400 large. LOL! The insurance companies have probably had more problems with modified Novas than with Sierra Cossies being nicked back in the 80's.

Get a life kids, get a supercar and make that stupid insurance quote all worth while...LOL!

Never heard about it...just curious.

Maciej

You lucky guy, haven't heard of a Nova.

Here is one from autotrader.

Maciej, it's a Vauxhall Nova (Mum type shopping car) it was probably badged as a Opel Corsa in your country.

Simon

Hey my first picture! and it worked first time wink.gif

...Mr. Z.

Nova's are the preffered choice of the young driver on passing his/her test. They buy 'em cheap, insurance companies rip the off big time coz they know that the kids will pay it! And the kids, well they then spend most of their time reading Max Power and visiting Demon Tweeks of a weekend out.

Result, highly modified shopping trolleys that can do 0-60 in about 4 or 5 secs. but crap out on top end of about 95mph.

I must admit, I have seen some cars that have been modded so much that hardly anything is standard! LOL!

Upgrades go as follows:-

Stage 1 Air-Filter - Usually the airbox taken from a Dyson twin cylinder carpet cleaner. Adds about -5 bhp

Stage 2 Exhaust - Standard piping to the Mother of all back boxes! They tend to choose big here, Skyline R34 etc. This is why they have to spend so much on ICE, can't hear a sodding thing with that size back box. Adds about 1bhp over standard.

Stage 3 - Engine Mods. - Take your 1.2 Merit engine, change to racing cams, Iridium twin Splitfire super conducting snow mobile plugs. Forged Pistons, gas flowed and ported heads etc. Usually gives a respectable 0.5bhp over standard.

So you get the picture, spend the same amount of money into making your Vauxhall Supernova into something only describably as "Freak or Unique?". Then when you grow up wonder why you didn't just save up and buy a brand new NSX! LOFL!

The thing is that you don't need a license to drive it.

It's a popular hobby on the Swedish countryside.

Hey Maciej, I recently saw something on the TV about these cars

They also had some heavily tuned ice-mobiles that could do 0-60 in 1.5secs or something.

Meep..meep..
