im sure there was one around here somewhere but i cant seem to find it any more, im going to get started on by putting the dreaded clutch pedal and brake pedal in, but before i got destroying the inside of my car, i need to know how easy it is to get that metal plate off the fire wall. thats all im interested in, so anyone who has done the manual conversion and had to remove that plate (you know what im on about if you have done it) how did you go about it?

Happened to me not 3 days ago, I was on phone to my mum lmao. Misses was sat next to me and as I was putting down phone I said speak later babe lmao

Ian it's fairly easy to do, just use flat head screwdriver or chisel and knock it off from engine bay side.

The pedals ain't bad either, take driver seat out, so u can lay on your back.

The pipe for clutch master to slave have u got a braided one or make a copper one up original pipe to front of car is a pain in the arse.

Are u using the servo for clutch if using original bits have to take drivers wing off - sure I read u can use a long length of pipe with 1 way valve.

Gear linkage is straight forward.

Need a pilot bush/spigot bearing about fiver from Nissan buy 2 incase u brake one like I did 1st time and wait 2 days for another, I used socket same size to knock it in.

Auto bearing knocked out with chisel and hammer held chisel kind of side on and knocked it forward couple hits each side to drive it out even.

Remember to put back plate on before box it's it's the whole circle not in 2 halts like the auto.

And I find lifting box on my own is the fastest way to do it.

I get my head bell housing end and knees prop end it's heavyish but pretty easy nothing like autobox to lift.

Take the four big tubo pipes off either side or radiator and put block of wood on scissor Jack, somewhere around front pulley makes it much easier to slide box on and better angle.

Goodluck mate, but it ain't too bad.

Done quite a few conversions,

It's easy Vods, just as the Steamer says, just bash and wiggle mate, nay worries, remember to tilt the engine back aswell to make the box go on easier, I stuck a jack on the front pulley and twisted the engine on the mounts ;)

Bloody he'll wrote all that and realised there's 3 pages lol and u have done most of it.

Sorry for my long post.

Manual flywheel bolts are longer mate then auto ones if u don't allreay know.

Gotta start reading before I write.

Oh, I didn't realise this thread was 4 pages, you probably got your answer ages ago, couldnt see all on my Moby ;)

Yep lol, using my phone too,

wrote it and realised.

Atleast I don't look like the only mad person.

i aint even changed the gearbox yet bud. all i did today was stick the clutch pedal and brake pedal in lol. still need to change the throttle pedal yet.

Errrr. is it true the wing needs to be removed as im going to find that very bloody difficult as the wing is blended into the side skirts and the front bumper, and the side skirts are blended into the car its self.

throttle pedal? why you changing that? is it different?!

I've heard you can peel back the arch liner to gain access to it, thats the stage mine is up to but all I can see is this big blue relay looking thing with two connectors going to it side by side.

Oh and what glue did you use to stick the clutch and brake pedals in with?

Click image for video, pretty much a small video for those that struggle getting the clutch pedal assembly in place due to the thick wiring loom at the top, man i sound strange in that video lol

Didn't use glue bud, there is this new invention called bolts and nuts, i used the nuts on the threads that came on the parts supplied
