Six years later!!!!!!!!!!! Its got a ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was nearly six years ago that Yaseen brought me his damaged slicktop .

After I stripped off everything he wanted I was left with a damaged rolling shell.

Today I took it for an MOT and got a first time pass.:thumbup1:

Just need to get insurance transferred to it and tax it for June 1st.

Its still a work in progress with lots to do.

Might have a run to JapShow at Santa Pod.

grats bud, i remember seeing this in your garage when it was parked next to your 240z. i take it you decided against going with the orange look? was quite looking forward to that.

What happened to the other set of wheels?

cheers Ian. I only ever had in mind painting the roof and hatch with the Electric orange .

Im not sure wot wheels you saw on it . I have some Japanese split rims (17") deep polished lip and dark centres like the car..

i also have some cheeepo Woolfrace 17s . also just acquired a decent set of Fox Rs 18"

May need to part with something eventually.

I like the wheels it sits on now but not the gold centres. They used to be on Bobgenies convertible.

Hopefully I can get a bit of "on the road" mapping on the Emerald before bringing it to Japshow.

Great news Pete. Now it's time to start enjoying it. And as we all know, even in this weather, Slicktop's Rule

Pretty sure you had some BBS looking wheels with a nice shiny dish with gold spokes, looked fantastic, though so did your 240z think i actually feel in love with the 240 when i saw yours.

Here is where it all began......................................

It was VERY bent:blush:

It was on a very big jig with a highly skilled operator(of God like status actually)

Lots of the story of the build is in the NA tuning section.

wow, i remember you doing this when i was thinking of painting my old zed orange, also remember yaseen having this car and it looked really nice

not keen on the ornage on black look, but the car does look great and the jig work loos spot on, well done for getting it back on the road, look forward to more pics

Blimey Pete, its been so long since I'd seen it I was'nt sure it still existed. Great to see it on the road. Does this mean I have to finish mine now

Whats the engine status, built and running as originally planned ? Been looking forward to seeing what a fully built up NA block can do.

PAH piece of pi55 to do that Pete ! lol

Are we having our own little convoy to the pod Pete ?

It has been sulking under a car cover for some time. LOL.

Course I have done lots of other motors as well. Including bobgenies slicktop and a couple or three 240Zs:thumbup1:

Stock engine with the usual bolt on goodies. Headers etc.

Running the Emerald set up ECU. Remember mine was the test bed for JD to get the system Z32 compatable.

The forged modified engine is sat under the bench. That will be the next phase.

Im quite keen to see what power can be made "as is". I already have good data for the stock engine with bolt on stuff. It might be interesting to see if the Emerald offers any advantages over the old school fixed Nissan ECU.

The whole project is still a bit rough round the edges.

And im mega busy on "other stuff"

So.... best get your out from under the dust sheet!!!

Sounds like a plan. Just gimme a few days to get it taxed and do a couple of mapping runs. I have just ordered a AFR gauge that will plug directly in to the Wideband Lamda sensor.

gotta admit thats some dedication to saving a zed there and commands respect. looks fantastic now and i understand what you mean about that guy had god like tendencys. awesome work.

bet you have a cheshire cat grin lol

I must admit to being well chuffed.

My mate John who MOTd it did compliment me on the build .

Emissions were spot on . Brake balance and stopping power were awesome. L to R balance was virtually perfect. I only had to adjust one headlamp for him during the test.

I have now got it on my classic insurance policy. £206. declared as import.

As soon as the cover note arrives I can get a tax disc.

Flipping heck Pete you've finally done it! Well done mate, will be interesting to see what a run against you would show on that emerald ECU of yours and the weight loss

Wow, i had the bonnet off that for my last zed! That was years ago

It.ll be interestting to see how she goes Pete , i remember going round Bruntinthorpe in you NA and i,d say that would have shown up a few TT,s !! :thumbup1:

Hi pete, hope you're well, hope everyone else is well

Would you believe a colleague and I were talking cars this morning and I was reminiscing, came on here to see if I could find any pics to show him and stumbled on this thread. Great job my friend!

(BTW I think cherry red would suit it perfectly)
