u got one for sale ?

i have AFR wide band gauge ... but ..... i been reading it wrong :)

What a SAFC2? No did have but sold it already :) Wish I kept it... like lots of things I've sold... lol :)

can probably sort you out an NA oil squirter if you wanna go down that route

ouch! lesson learned hey. at least you can take the knowledge you aquire from this epposide, and we as a club that havent seen this happen before (like myself) can learn the importance of a proper afr. what front mount you using again mark? i swear and someone will correct me but someone here was looking at alot of the front mounts and many of the non big brand ones ie not greddy etc were only as good as stock and one was worse! so it would also be intersting to know what the cahrge temp was. obviously fueling has been the killer here, but it would be good to elminate some other factors while your at it.

also considering the damage caused to that piston, how badly was the bore affected? will the 0.5mm over bore be enough to take up the damage and leave a clean bore?

you going to hav etthe water passage cleaned up? to allow the water to get to 5/6 better?

i'm using a autobhan Front mounted .. ( HKS Copy )bit of hearsay about it ppl saying its not the same bla bla

but i have seen hks one and its identical

its very large in size would say each side is about 3>4 times bigger than OEM

I was wondering that. Might as well go for the biggest ones available Mark...... Are they any more expensive? Stock size and a bit bigger were the same last time I looked

Yeah they are more + more cost on re bore and according to tech'ys really advised against going to the size 88/89mm due to not much of performance gain

but all so leaving the bores quite thin

the bores are not scored surprisingly but more transfered alloy from the piston on to it

one thing i am doing now is completely removing AC ...

ah right god bless the pig iron lol. i know what you mean about the overbore theirs a write up i was reaing that hellraiser pointed me towards that makes for good reading where they went pretty far on the overbore and did some crazy stuff like cryogenic treatment and resin filling the block etc.

okey doke, will let you know over the weekend when its out

nice to see you binning off AC, all that weight saving... you'll be chipping away the sound deadening before you know it... lol

now you mention sound deadening......... last few days i might of got carried away. lol

like

i have decided to leave the roof lining and just the small plastic around the windows in. still need some comfort. lol. took it for a spin earlier and it has made a very nice difference allready. lol

Has it actually changed the amount of road noise you hear?

That psiton has suffered classic detonation damge,a first oversize re bore will cure that, the crank sprocket should have been drilled then split thus saving your probaly good oil pump ooppps.Just get ACL bearings, the nissan gradings were only relevant when the engine was new tbh and its crazy anyway, iirc 6 microns between no 1 and 4 grading wtf,its typical Japanese over the top engineering.

Yes it was whoops with pump ... But least its new now

I thought as much with bearing after doing some reading on net

Crap mate, just read through this :( Sorry to see all that hard work ended up with a melted piston - sounds like the best route though with the uprated bits and bobs though :)

Fingers crossed!
