Just called Footman James but they have told me they won't even quote a modern car now unless I already have a policy with them.

Is that correct?

Ive spoke to Dav@FJ and he's going to speak to someone to see if they can quote or not.

Lynbrook matey, been with them since i owned a zed.

300ZX is a classic car, rather than a modern. We still have some staff that are looking at paper copies of the various schemes we run rather than the shared database which I update.

We used to class the Zed as a classic at 20 years old, I changed it to 10 years when I bought my 1994 model ;) Problem is some people aren't aware despite me flagging it on numerous occasions.

I've asked one of the girls to look at it, it does qualify for a classic scheme subject to the modifications being acceptable, you should be getting a phone call in the next few minutes :)

Ive just renewed the M3 with FJ. Slightly more expensive than the best price i got, but not by much.

I stayed with them due to my good experience with them.

7 Series is also with them.

I will call u for a quote soon Dave@FJ :D

No worries at all, the more the merrier!

Could you give examples of what are and what aren't acceptable modifications mate?

No worries at all mate. Laura did tell me what the quote came out at and I wasn't surprised you didn't take it out!

It's a combination of various mods....anything over a 10% bhp increase in going to attract a massive loading. The value of a bodykit in relation to the value of the vehicle, same story for alloys. Boost controllers are just a big no no.

Random example.....If you've got a car that you're declaring a value of £5k for.....if the wheels are worth £2k and the bodykit is worth £1k then, in effect, the mods are worth more than the car itself.....underwriters don't like that. Add in some power gains and then you're just adding loadings on top of loadings and you end up with silly prices.

In the main, if you've got a 'fairly' normal car and have just done the basics like exhaust, filters etc then we're going to be very competitive. Start adding power gains of more than 10% and the price starts going up...lots...Hope this helps :)

Do you know if they would cover a track car? No power gains, and no expensive wheels, bodykits etc, but lighter and better suspension and brakes...

Cheers

I don't see any reason why not? AFAIK they won't quote if the rear seats have been removed and they don't particularly like roll cages either but upgraded suspension and brakes are fine and don't usually attract a loading
