Welcome Matey :)

For 1k you will be getting a rough one that needs a lot of work doing. You would be better spending around the 3k mark and getting a good one. Great as these cars are they will quickly bleed your wallet dry.

Keep your eyes open, a bargain will come up. But be careful, as I have seen some "bargains" that would be a money pit. I just bought mine today, so not far ahead of the stage your at.

I know there is a few around, I will be using a company called Euro-Spec for maintaining mine, remember, a complete service belts and all can be as much as £800+ so a car for £200 more, might get from A to B - but eventually it will break down, and will be 1k down the drain.

Take your time, you are doing the right thing having your feelers out.

Welcome to the Club, I have been here 5 minutes (almost) and have already learnt so much about the car, and meeting some really great people :D

i think if i hold bk and wait for the right one for a good price i mite be able to get a bargin as i want a project and this isnt going to be a car for a year i will be keeping this for some time so hope to make some good friends here as will be here for some time.

good plan tim, when I was looking I said bodywork could be a dog, as long as it wasnt rusty and didnt need welding. same for interior. but the engine and gearbox had to be mint. I alwas knew I wanted to tidy one up anyway.

Good luck.

Good luck mate, I was same as u, saw one and soooooo wanted one ! Good luck with the 1k one though, I looked at that price range but they were right dogs !

I was lucky to buy one of BAZ on here, only had it 4 days, I have driven it every day though, it's the muts nuts ! Lol

On the insurance front ....... Yea u can get cheap classic insurance but that's only on a uk car, try quote on jap car and ur. Ack in the 2-3k again, that's what I found anyway.

Good hunting :)

Footman james insure a jap zed on a classic policy.

A £1000 Zed will need work, but you can get them. A £3000 zed will need work, so it depend what you want. Im near Brum too mate, but dont have a zed atthe moment.

I know of a nice looking UK car for £1400...

Its great Ryan you got the car for the price you did but wait a couple of years before declaring it a bargain. If its trouble free then you did as you say get a good deal but these cars can hide many faults as they are so complex for the year they were made.Im not trying to rain on your parade but dont want you to expect years of trouble free motoring. The last owners hardly used it and youll want to live in it as a new owner and this is lightly to cause some problems.

Posted by Ryan........complete service belts and all can be as much as £800

Maybe at a Nissan dealer, not at a specialist.

Wise words there too :D

JeffTT, Where do u recommend for that type of service, I was getting price from Euro-Spec its £715 + VAT @ 20% = £858 all inc.

Man Nissan Main Dealer would never do that price that sort of service, would prob be £1200+

Scrap that Jeff, added your homepage to my tabs.

May use you for a manual conversion too if I cant get on with the Auto lol.

Is there a way to PM you? I wanted a cost and breakdown of the full service.
