been trawling recently, just being nosey as we all do, and i dunno about the rest of you but ive noticed a severve reduction in the amount of 1000-1500 zeds.

infact to find a tt under 1k now seems to require buying one someones broken. and the average price for a half decent example is around 3.5 to 4 at present. it may be premarture, and also you have to take into account are these cars selling, blah blah.

but i think what we are seeing a slight rise in zed prices.

guess we shall have to keep watching this space, but it does have to happen at some point the dross will all get scrapped and the quality will shine through with a higher price :)

There does seem to be more & more costly rebuilds on zeds - the amount of corrosion repairs alone (mine included) is far more common than a few years ago.

To do this work properly requires quite a bit of expense & if someone has bought a £1500 car & needs £2000+ worth of repairs then unless very dedicated to that car then most owners would just get rid!

As you say this should leave the remaing good ones that have been looked after with values increasing!

good & bad news I suppose - good that decent ones will command a better price but bad as there will be less & less of these cars around

summers round the corner and these cars fetch more dosh in the sun!

indeed they do, 4x4s are the opposite, in comes the snow and up go the prices, they plummet in the summer! lol

I hope they are finally on the rise as Paul said there are a lot of sorted zeds that have been looked after now :)

It seams more popular to break a zed know rather than sell it of cheap, plus I find the numbers of 300zx for sale in Autotrader and Piston Heads have dopped quite a lot.

i agree when i brought mine what 3 years back now theyre were loads to choose from. i was shocked how many i could buy for around a grand and a half. i set out with a budjet of 4 and ended up spending 2.5 on onethat had just had a blow over etc etc. fairly recent import. now there sees to be none and id be forking out my 4 to get the same standard. there arnt that many for sale full stop. its good news

Ended up phoning the chap I bought mine off (by accident) the other day. We chatted about the car and he said he had been looking around for a Z or similar for the summer but was struggling to find one in as good condition for the price.

Send him my way

I think you are right guys I looked for 3 months before I brought this one and I thought I got a good one!! time will tell mind stocking up on parts for my next zed already

Who has bought a zed recently for 3.5-4k? I see the asking prices are up but whether any have actually sold for this figure im not sure as i havent seen any on here selling for around that and instead being broken up. If you have some examples of sales then i would believe this.

Yes, musty agree about the number of Zeds on P/Heads. Only ever 2 pages of ads now there was a time when there was 5-6 pages. So getting rarer? and prices getting stronger

Ah yes the auto well the ad is still up so i guess it hasnt been picked up and paid for yet so hopefully he doesnt get a timewaster.

Lol Ahh it's always for sale... Lol if someone wants it it's theirs. I don't know what I want to replace it, well I do but I can't really justify it. I must admit it drives better now than it ever has done! New lass was in it the other day, iv never put my foot down when she's been in it until Sunday. Head went back and she went quiet - best way of shutting her up lol

I disagree with this thread, mine is in excellent nick, just needs a wheel refurb and apart from crazy swap offers i cant seem to get an audience, mine is a desirable version with nice extras at a very reasonable price.

What am i doing wrong? I think there are not many cheap 300s out there as they are all being broken

only desirable to a select few

Theones being broken are mostly rotten sheds and only the best will servive so the prices can only go one way. I would say the prices are going up but not as many people have spare cash anymore to buy a weekend toy.
