This coming week, ill be liaising with zclub to find out about there calendar, and will be ringing around all the major events i know off to arrange for our stand to be there, once thats done ill be updating this page to let our members know what top events we have planned for this year.

JAE is looking to be around the 7th 8th 9th of September, again at wicksteed park, and this year we will see about a collaboration with not only zclub but also 350z club as well, ill be putting the 350z club to committee. I've also asked to see if we can secure the same area we had in 2011, as our site was massive, quite close to the entrance and other facilities, but that depends on whether JAE's layout will be this year as it changed last year from 2010

Also going to see about arranging a few track days at silver stone for those that would like to attend.

or even a day out in a seaside town, possibly Brighton / Blackpool, to try and cater for all distances.

Nice one Ian....!

I have just posted a thread about Japfest as it's getting ever closer - so the sooner you get in touch with Martin the better matey!!

Richard:thumbup1:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It looks I might actually have some leave from Uni the first 2 weeks of September, so I'm gonna do my best to get to JAE this year, provided I can find somewhere reasonable and local to stay. I don't do camping!

Any chance they are changing the venue back to somewhere more sensible like Billing? The venue last year (And I'm told the last few years) was f****** awful!

are we talking about JAE and wicksteed park? being local to both, i have to say that billing is complete and utter tosh compared to wicksteed.

my only issue with wicksteed was the amazing ability of the council to be doing roadworks during the event. since its been at wicksteed park, the consensus on the JAE forum is that people have enjoyed it more than billing, also wicksteed has a lot more to offer people who bring kids with them and doesnt have a caravan park attached to it.

Did you go to the Billing JAEs? They were the last ones I went to, I think I was at the last one to be held there too, or if not, the penultimate one.

The show is just NO WHERE NEAR as good as it was in the old days. I'm tempted to give it a miss this year tbh. No real reason, other than the venue and the lack of entertainment from the organisers these days. I'm sure the club will do more for entertainment this year with lessons learnt that the show doesn't provide any these days, but the venue still sucks.

Speed bumps on the way in, combined with pot holes, stone roads, nothing but hills, hills and more hills. Terrible venue for a car show.

The venue is fine, it was a good year in 2010, and even better in 2011. im sorry you didn't really have a good time there, but the rest of us did

I thought JAE last year was great, and I think it will be even better this year, roll on JAE 2012. Voddy, considering it was your first year of organising JAE for us, you done an excellent job buddy, and I am sure you have listened to some of the suggestions for this years which will make it awesome. Keep up the good work buddy and don't get downhearted.

2012 is gonna ROCK :punk::clap::punk:

Yep,Sure is gonna rock,,,,,,, 5,000 watts ice install lol:rockon::rockon:

I am camping this year, maybe this could sway you into sharing my two 'person' tent, if not it will have to be Mikey or Daz

Joking aside I stayed in 2010 at the Hampton by Hilton in Corby, 15 mins away, recommended highly, if you book early you may get a very good deal, it includes all you can eat cooked breakfast for about £45.00 a night :cool3:

Yeah I don't do camping either but that sounds like a plan. Not too much in a taxi if I have a glass of wine or 27!!

Dammit I will make JAE this year, Already booked the time off work!!

For us newbies looking to come for the first time; is it a two day event? when do people normally go down, leave the event etc?

Which are the best websites to look at re the event and also things like camping arrangments?

I would like to camp but if the home comforts arent there for my Missus I will need to get a hotel booked...

Once i have some more info Ill get leave / accomodation booked etc..

Cheers
