Easy mate compared to most front wheel drive crap out their,

Jack car up and get on axal stands,

Remove:

Exhausts,

Starter motor,

Slave cylinder,

Undo gearbox drain plug and drain it.

prop, 2 bolts holding it to the car, 4x bolts and prop splits in the middle,

Undo 4x big turbo hoses under bonnet> lets the engine tilt further back.

Get a Jack under the gearbox, undo gearbox mount bolts..

Lower gearbox with jack, then you can get to sensors- neutral switch, reverse lights, speed sensor. disconnect them,

4x bolts on gear linkage plus long bolt and nut going through the bush part.

Then the bolts around bell housing, use a few extension bars together and go over the top of gearbox for top bolts,

Then its ready to come out, i drop it out laying on my back using my arms and knees...but most use a trolley jack...be careful their heavy...and they hurt when they hit you, i know this because an autobox hit me on the back of the wrist and needed stitches...but used electrical tape and made a plaster and carried on with my manual conversion, no time for hospital when there was a manual zed on its way lol.

and second time the box slipped and split my eyebrow open nice little zed scar.

So again be careful.

I also lift it back in 1minute of heavy work and its back up their,

and just reverse fitting it back together,

No wheels off, no subframes to drop easy peasy.

About 100 quid. Its easy. Haha

What!!

"Average" garage price is 200 -250 quid mate depending on cash or card and invoice required.

Not hard for any garage tbh, but always best to find one that has done it before.

This is a DIY job but given the apparent dangers highlighted by Terry and the speed it can be done on a ramp ( 2 hours ) do yourself a favour and get it done on a ramp,a while you wait job under around £225 and the work is then warranted.
