I don't post very often and there's not too many female Z drivers I guess. But I wonder those who are, whether you share the same experience as me?

We were in convoy, me and TonyB (my better half!) travelling south to the Z World Bash (thanks Jeff and Linda, it was brilliant!). I've told Tony how this happens to a female driving on her own, but he still needs to see it to truly understand how it works. And yes, it did happen a couple of times to me.

Now before we go any further, I'm not paranoid! I've been told more than once how this game works, mainly by those who drive white vans for a living ... sorry any of you on here! Guys who drive BMWs also play the same game, and others. The game is about scoring points with the aim of driving a lone female onto the hard shoulder. That scores them high!!!! They love 'tail-gating'. They will vroom up behind you (if you're a female driving alone) pushing ... pushing ... pushing ... and when you move aside to let them go, they move in front and then go slow. They harrass you to such an extent it can become a nightmare. Until I got my Z, that is!!!!! Now at least I can floor it and leave them well behind!!!!! Which is what I do. Unless, of course, they also have a performance car and accept it as a challenge!

It happened a couple of times to me while on the way to the Z World Bash last weekend. And it got me wondering, is there any other female on here who shares these kind of experiences? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

It's happened to me whether I'm driving a BMW, a Peugeot 206 or 307 SW, an Audi, even a Citreon ... It's not about the car. It's the fact it's a female driver that is the lure. :helpsmilie:

Tony is just begging to see one try while he's near me ... he says to get on the phone, ask for motorway police, explain what's happening, take their number if poss., ask their help ... but to be honest, it's all about focus, keeping out of danger, keeping safe.

Happy to share your thoughts :winkiss:

I've had this a number of times, in various different cars

astra, zed, beeten up ford transit, and recently in my land rover defender by a 2011 range rover.

in the astra it was all the way down the m23 then off at the gatwick exit where they started throwing eggs at my car. i phoned the police who eventually turned up. it had been going on for about 40 minutes. we had 4 big blokes in the car

i have no idea why people would want to do it to a old transit van as i'm quite happy to shunt them off the road if they try it on too much

when the guy in the range rover tried it to my landy, we stopped at lights and i wound down the window and asked if if he was shure as his was worth a lot more than mine, after that he left me alone

i have a camera fitted to my zed that records constantly and keeps footage if it detects shocks or i push the panic button, its designed for accidents so is good for evidence. if anyone does it agin i will email the police the video after

I could do with one of them where do i get one from?

Erm- this is getting a bit grouchy!! Anyway, back to the girlie stuff. I've got my zed and a fiesta zetec s and I definitely find more people try to give me grief in the zed. Especially audis for some reason. Have to assume they have something to prove. On the motorway, on the rare occasions I'm not in the mood to toy with them I will look for a gap in the traffic big enough for me but not them and pull in there. If they're not directly in front or behind they can't bother you. But normally I will just put my foot down and bimble off into the distance  you can always pull over to the inside lane later so they can pass you and 'win'

I was ready to give an extensive on topic reply earlier, however, I just landed a major contract, and then my nagging mother got on the phone for an hour. It's not just the road antics that male and female share

On the way home from zedworld we wedged at least 3 cheeky undertakers on the way back between the 300 and the Espace though :D

It's all too tempting to do that, the officer on the other side of the hill didn't seem to find it an acceptable excuse lol

Aah!! But that's when we can go into 'girlie' mode. It's switchable between giggly/silly or scared/pathetic or really stoopid. Works every time. Until the fateful day I meet a policewoman I suppose :scared:

There is no elequent way to put this.

I just don't have the tits to pull that off.

that model only records in its own file format, so you need the program to view it. so you cant easily share footage on the forum

i think the newer version also records standard video footage

i use mine to watch back tyrack days as i can see where on the track i was at what speed and what g force, and what i was saying at the time :)

I could've been more specific lol

Cheers for that mate, just wondering if i could also record vids on it, ie going down a twisty road trackdays etc

Mostly want it for recording the rest of the time though.

Hi Roobarb

Good to hear from you and glad you joined this thread.

Someone said fairly early on that I should talk to you about Fair Ladies driving Zs ... seems we share similar experiences?

And the old dumb blond routine strikes again....lol....:tt2: Yvonne will be able to get away with that one as well Roobarb.....:whistling::lol::lol:

Which begs the question "if there was room to undertake, how come you hadn't moved over"?

Which begs the question "if there was room to undertake, how come you hadn't moved over"?

AH! A good point well put! However, the reality of motorway driving these days is, that if you wait patiently in the correct lane, inevitably the inner lanes are near empty whilst 1 car half a mile ahead holds everyone up by not overtaking the car in the next lane.

I'm pretty sure no-one on this forum sits in the middle lane (I hope)!

After reading some of the stories, I guess I can be quite blessed that I haven't personally had this issue. I don't really do a lot of motorway miles though.

Which begs the question "if there was room to undertake, how come you hadn't moved over"?

let me see ... doing 70 to slight higher passing a truck that's doing about 60 and some cheeky sods decide to try for the left of me to get through the gap thats steadily closing instead of going the other way which was totally clear like they should!

I'm not a center lane hogger particularly in traffic and I even indicate back in :)

I'll let you off then...

I do a pretty hefty amount of motorway miles, and have seen loads of the stupid games... only lost it once though: I was coming up the M1, 2 lanes of lorries and a queue of cars passing them in front... a guy in an RS4 is on my arse like Graham Norton, despite the fact I can't move in anywhere...

This went on for ages, eventually the lorries cleared, cars started to move over so I accelerated to pass them, pull in and he pulls in behind me. It carried on for about 5 mins - every time I pulled out he would fly up behind me, so I saw red - next clear stretch of motorway, I pulled out and floored it, he did his usual trick, but failed to notice that I had stood on the brakes!

He lost control for a second, narrowly missed the central reservation, dropped back about 200 yds and I last saw him pull into the services... to bin his underwear no doubt! It was a while ago, and I'd like to say I felt guilty... but I didn't really!

Lol, I generally find with my van the more they tailgate the less I notice them due to them disappearing Into my blind spot ha.
