Yay nice new brakes....!!

Following my seized caliper issue back in February, I had a replacement fitted (big thanks to JeffTT), but recently I had noticed signs of a warped disc....

.....so I bought a set of Brembo stock replacement discs/pads for £100 all in and dropped the car off at my local garage last week for them to be fitted. However it transpired that the other caliper had now seized too....

So, rather than fanny about with another 2nd hand replacement, I managed to source a fullly reconditioned pair from the re-manufacturer for £300 delivered. With the option to return my old ones for a £50 rebate (I sent them back today....:winkiss:).....

....and now the whole lot has been fitted, with new Mintex rear pads too, so far I'm pretty happy!! Not least because I can drive it to Jeff's bash tomorrow.

Whilst it is only a stock replacement, it certainly shows that the original set-up, when working properly as when the car was new, is perfectly adequate on a standard(ish) car!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My red zed which wasn't standard stopped excellently on its OEM breaks with new pads. lovely job, i think with age the stopping power reduces so when we eventually buy a zed we think they are not very good, when in fact the are.
