Morning all

I have the OEM foamy type spoiler on my Zed which I would quite like to remove for a cleaner look.

I know how to remove this... im just wondering what im going to be left with after and how easy it will be to fill all the holes etc and any panel gaps that are created.

I think there are 6 holes that are created? do these need spot welding or can they be fillered? (I dont want anything to be a bodge)

And then do I need a perspex panel for above the rear light panel?

All help is greatly appreciated :) (as well as sarcasm :p)

Yes you'll need the perspex panel

You could potentially fibre glass or mesh the holes then fill them, but you'd probably be better getting them welded and then filling them.

You will be left with lots of gunk, 6 holes and potentially some dents if some silly ******* overtightened the bolts at some point as we just found out on another boot lid we took a spoiler off.

Cheers :)

I might have a bash this weekend if its not too cold!

Do I need to get the perspex panel new or are they on any other Zed's like the N/A's? (am I right in saying mine with it being a TT is just a TT OEM spoiler)

Well, I should have mentioned the one I got had the high level stop light in. Without it, it's like £44.70 + VAT.

Or buy one without and put a spoiler on that has a brake light in it :D

LOVE your rear end... (not like that!!!)

Mine was a nightmare to get off! It had been changed by the previous owner and bonded on! The chisel was released!

Fortunately the water that had caused the spoiler to bubble had not got through to the underneath so rust FREE :) Then as the pics in the previous posts it was spot welded.

Then prepped and sprayed. I loved the look of no spoiler but, and still do, but there was something missing. I suggest having it de spoilered and flattened and then you can always add a spoiler at a later date :)

It's all down to personal preference!

Nice job, IMHO that looks smoother and nicer than my tailgate skin.

When I had my Z I had to get the skin done twice, the first time the filler rose from the wholes created when someone used studs to hold it down when bonding, also the blending was cracking over a long period. I had it redone at a recomended place and still had cracking a year later.

I think the insert and smooth tailgate looks really smart :)

I went direct to Nissan on these. I wrote the part numbers down at work, but I've since thrown the piece of paper away. There is someone who works in a Nissan parts department, maybe he will be nice enough to get them for you :)
