Hello,

My name is Rob (43) from Dorset and I have just bought a 300 ZX Z31 (NA) Auto.It has 100k on the clock but you wouldn't think so looking at her. Even though she's an 87, the bodywork and interior is excellent.

This is (in a way) my first car ! Let me explain... I am in a wheelchair and until now have had 9 cars under the motability 3 year lease scheme. So this is the first time I have had a "real" car, one that I am passionate about,

instead of one that "fits."

I'm not complaining. The Motability scheme is a fantastic thing and I have had many years if happy and importantly care-free motoring.

I have always been a petrol-head and motorsport enthusiast, but I always yearned to have a sports car of myown.

My friend and neighbor (and personal engineer) Kev will be helping me keep me on the road.

Most of my friends all thing I'm mad giving up the security of a eco-hatch for a 3 Ltr V6 "in this economy !?!" ... I guess my Fairlady is my mid-life-crisis-mobile. :-)

Glad to meet you all,

Rob.

Hi Rob,

welcome to the forum buddy.

I have moved your post to the newbies section for you.

Although we are mostly a Z32 forum a few of the members do have Z31's, so I am sure someone with a Z31 will introduce themselves soon.

I am one of the wheelchair users talked about mate, and I got my Zed 12 months ago.

If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. If you have some pictures of your Z31, post them up for eveyone to see.

Cheers

Ian

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!

Also, thanks to 300ZX_666 for the thread of my own!

I should be able to post some photos this week but I don't actually have the car yet, it's been in the shop getting a dead speedo working, so I can't wait to get it home and have a good look at it.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!

Just a quick update. I still don't have the car! The garage have had it over a week now saying they ordered the wrong part and they're waiting for one in the post. (Speedo sensor.)

Took a few pics while I was there. :-)

Umm.. I see red crosses for the last 3 pictures I posted. Do you all see the photos as intended? Or has something gone wrong?

Thank you all again for your warm welcome!

I have it home now, and this is where it starts getting expensive!

I've noticed that the side-lights have been move to a switch on the dash, as the stalk just puts the main headlights on.

Unless you flick the switch there's no side-lights or rear lights.

Also, when full-beam is put on, the left headlight goes out (with the right on) and when you flash, it swaps so the right light goes out (with the left on.)

Sounds like some botched electrical DIY.

Do any of you know much about the stalks? Would it be a big job to correct this?
