Is it the Ford Cougar or Ford Kuga that you mean bud?

I assume the Cougar, and not the later 'pretend' 4x4 Kuga

a friend of mine used to have a Cougar but said that it was quite disapointing, in fact he only owned it for about 8 months then replaced it with a Mondeo ST220

I've never owned one myself but it was likened to driving the Probe

I suppose it depends what exactly you're going to use it for

just until next pring when i can get me zed sorted just wanted an ok coupe with abit of punch!, they looked nice inside, either that or a celica gt

I would go for a Celica GT over a Cougar bud, but I'm a jap whore to be fair

I know a company selling an imported Celica (NA) I believe but owned by the daughter of a good friend of mine, I was going to buy it myself until Marty came along with the shortie' zed.

At a glance it's been mildly modified and looks like TRD have played a part in it at some point.

Kakimoto exhaust, MOMO steering wheel (if I remember correctly) and he was only asking £800 I think

^^ whats with the GT4? bit of a shame seeing it like that as they are good cars.

Imho cougars arent up to much, for a fairly large v6 they only kick out around 148bhp which isnt a lot for a big car......but then I may be biased after owning a v6 calibra, the cougars nemesis, lol :)

I'm going to pop up to see the lads for a brew and a chat and will ask what the score is with the GT4. Apart from not having wheels, last time I took a look around it it seemed in very good condition, so I would assume that it must be an engine issue, or it could just be that they took it in as a non runner but it may be a simple fix.

I do like Celica's but only the earlier models as above ^^^, I'm not too keen on the gen 7, very underpowered in my opinion.

the ford cougar is Based on the mondeo mk2 running gear does have the 2.5 lump thats around the 160ish bhp ..

its a little heaver than the mondeo and handles quite well but you be better off with a Mk3 mondeo than that

The interiour pics are off the GT4 :)

Yep, it's just the order that they were uploaded onto photobucket. The black Celica has a much nicer interior than the GT4

KJZ32 has a cougar, would be worth having a quick word with him i reckon

Just sold mine, X plated 2.0 Zetec for £400. they're not a bad car really but should be really really cheap if your buying

i looked at a few cougars i found them dissapointing to drive really i went for a w reg st200 mondeo in the end cost me 700 quid with full history and no rust , goes really well bud id look into one dead reliable too

KJZ32 DID have a cougar lol

I really like the Peugeot 406 coupe withe the 3.0 engine. A lot of car nice looks and quite fast for not a lot of money :-)

Weird, I got lent an st200 and it did 20 mpg at best, with a modest bit of go, then got back in my bmw 540 and did 21mpg....with 286bhp .

Ford v6's suck :2guns:

I used to own one before the zed. The 2.5 lump should be kicking out 170bhp. goes quite well for the size of the car but the mpg is truely horrific. Its hardly better than the z. good sized car though and can be picked up for a relatively small amount. The best power upgrades are to get are all the bits and pieces off the mondeo st220.

if i have to have a ford cougar can it be Lita Ford?

She must be in her 50's now lol

No; to answer your question exactly.......

.....but given the choice of a Cougar or a Celica GT, then it would be the Celica without hesitation!

The Cougar was more modern then the Calibra, but IMO lagged behind the Celica, 200sx and Corrado. By a long way!!! Just in my opinion of course......:sweatdrop:

Richard:cool2:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

if you want a reliable good looking quick well equiped coupe for little money you cant go far wrong with a newest shape mk3 hyundai coupe v6 .....

Selling one at the momment, but only the 2.0 and a bit broken... :D

I used it for almost 2 years, it was a good car, a little more room in the rear than the Zed, a deeper boot, but about the same width / length as the Zed.

I'd recommend going for the V6 though. May St220 parts fit as mentioned above, and its a myth that its just a Mondeo underneath, sure there are common parts, but its not a Mondeo underneath. I had a Mondeo too, very different to drive.

Its not a myth at all bud. I looked into this just the other day, they share the same platform. What makes them different is weight distribution, spring/damper rates and suspension geometry. They are very different though and every review I read said the ST220 was the better car. I'd rather have the Mondy too, way better looking than the (Freddie) Crougar.

If looks are more important than substance then the Pug 406 is still one of the best looking cars to be made in the last 15 years. But they are heavy like trucks, nearly 2 tons for the V6. A friend of mine bought one and stuck a meaty exhaust on it and so on, went well enough - but was heavy on fuel.

I still think the Fiat Coupe Turbo is the way forward. Only ever heard good things about the chassis. It is a Fiat though, but then hey, Fords aint any better anyway.

well im pretty limited i just wanted an ok coupe but only got 700 notes to play with i like the fiat but i can see it becoming a problem for me!
