I might have some engine temp problems.

I have tried two autugauge temp readers and sensors and two ecu temp (the old and a new one shows the same).

AC off

The autogauge shows about 120 degrees before fans kick in for full.

The ecu shows 105 degress.

AC

The autogauge shows about 115 degrees

The ecu show 100 degress.

The original dash temp stays in the middle all the time.

Same in both nistune and datascan.

How can I find out what the correct temp actually is?:confused1:

We use one of these in the workshop, excellent at determining actual temp of water in and out of the rad, the block, heads and anything else you point it at, good for brake disc temp readings too, look around as prices vary, around £50 is a good price.

I don't think it matters..

Either way the engine is running way too hot. You've got bigger problems to worry about buddy, like why the fook is my engine melting.

Whenever I'm in doubt I pull the radiator cap. If it blows water like a volcanic geiser 20ft into the air - that's about 150 degrees celsius. If it blows it 2-3ft in the air then its about 100 - 120 degrees. If it just gurgles up and overflows then its about normal running temp. Not very scientific, but better than sticking you fingers in the rad.

I think normal temp is about 82 degrees

or 3 inches:rofl:
